Good Monday Morning Gang!! The start of another week and the weather is perfect. I got out at 12:30 on Friday and went home to help Irvin clean out the goat barn and lay down fresh straw. He had me run the Bobcat and I did a pretty good job of it. Thistle is a great mom and the babes are growing like crazy. They are like little jumping beans. We haven't figured out names yet and I know we won't be keeping the little boy.

Irvin went Saturday morning to the race track with Mia and Mason. They did a great job and then they all stopped by the house to see the goats. They helped me pick the garlic and collect eggs. Grandkids are great. We even made sure to get to the Y over the weekend it was almost like relaxing time going there.

QOTD: Fruit juice or vegetable juice which do you prefer? Once in a great while I do enjoy a nice glass of orange juice, but I much prefer V-8 or fresh juiced vegetables. I have a 1/2 gallon of beet juice in the fridge with a bunch of fresh herbs and spices mixed in.

B: coffee and squash and eggs

L: chef salad

D: Jalapeno peppers stuffed with chicken salad

Have a great day everyone!!

That sounds like great news on the myelogram. Hopefully you can get more answers. How was your mom when you told her about the numbness?

Happy Friday Gang!! So we didn't make it to the Y last night, but it was for a very awesome reason. We have BABY GOATS!!!!! On my way home from work actually I was almost home when Irvin called me all excited to tell me Thistle had twins. He said he had checked on the animals around noontime since it was so hot and muggy and she was still nice and fat. Then when he went down to feed them for night at 4 he noticed she was thin and was like what the heck. Then he heard the little ma ma coming from the back of the barn. He went in and there were two little kids laying in the hay all cleaned up. A little girl and a little boy. They look just like their dad except they have their mom's long ears. They are so darn cute and I'm getting out at 12:30 today to go help Irvin clean out the back part of the barn so we can separate Thistle and her babies from Bean. So, I have to get cracking and get a few things done at work that need to be finished up.

QOTD: This will be a silly one, but if you had the land and time would you get sheep or goats? While sheep have their purpose I am 100% a goat person. They are just such a lovable and personable animal. Irvin called a little while ago to say the babies are already running around trying to climb on him like silly goats do.

B: coffee no time for breakfast I had to go check on the babies :)

L: No idea as I will on my way home

D: grilled fish and squash

We will be going to the Y tonight as it won't take us long to get done what is needed to get the goats separated.

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!!!

The little ones.

Happy Thursday Peeps or Friday-Eve as many of us know it by. Made it to the Y last night and Irvin showed me the different machines he was doing that targeted different areas of the body. We ended up doing round and being on them for 45 minutes. I couldn't believe how quickly it went by. Then we hit the hot tub for 15 minutes. By the time we got home I wasn't even hungry so didn't have dinner just a nice big glass of ice water with some fresh squeezed lemon.

I'm back in the office today but had to do a run to Walmart earlier and I just got back a little bit ago. I think today is the last day of the heatwave, but of course it is going to the be worse one. Already gross out.

QOTD: When going to a pool or beach do you wear flip flops, sandals, or water shoes? I just wear flip flops as they seem to the be easiest for me to get on and off.

B: coffee and 2 eggs with slice of ham and cheese

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: chicken burgers maybe

Plan on doing the weight machines again tonight and hoping on the treadmill for a little bit. I think the lap pool has the swim team in for a little bit so I'll see if I can get into that after or not.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Wednesday Gang. Well we ended up not making it to the Y last night because we had issues at work and I didn't get out until 5:30. By the time I got home it was almost 6:30 and honestly after being up since 4am I was a bit beat, but tonight is another night and my plan is to do the weight machines to work on tightening up under my arms, inner thighs, and stomach.

Not 100% sure what happened with the water wash, but they didn't get the boiler back up and running until 1am this morning which is very unusual. Another day in the scale house, but I should be getting out at 4 today.

QOTD: What is your biggest cravings downfall sweet or salty? Mine is 100% salty. I can have candy or ice cream sitting in the freezer or cupboard forever, but chips, popcorn anything salty even pickles nope they don't stand a chance.

B: coffee and 3 chicken salad stuffed peppers

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: Not sure we have some leftover stuff

weight machines tonight and maybe the pool

Have a great Hump Day Everyone!!!

Good Tuesday Morning Gang. Today is the start of another heatwave here in the great Northeast. I'm in the scale house nice and comfortable with the A/C. We have a mid-year water wash on boiler 1 today just a routine maintenance thing it shouldn't even take 24 hours and the boiler will be back on-line. When I got out to the scale house I noticed the outbound scale guardrail was leaning in apparently overnight when we got a lime delivery the driver hit it and pulled it out of the cement.

Had another great night at the Y. Irvin was set and ready to go when I got home from work. I did a hike through the Costa Rican rainforest while he did weight machines and the stair stepper. We then hit the lap pool and finished off in the hot tub. I forgot how many muscles one uses while swimming, but I was able to do a total of 24 laps.

QOTD: Do you ever "invent" a food? I've started making what I call a breakfast salad bowl on the weekends. It consists of butterleaf lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, cottage cheese, soft boiled egg and homemade sausage. Very tasty and filling.

B: coffee and 2 soft boiled eggs

L: salad with 2 chicken salad stuffed peppers

D: grilled chicken burgers

30 minutes on the treadmill and then swimming

Have a great day!!!

My breakfast bowl and my two Hydrangeas. The pink one is finally blooming.

Good Monday morning gang. We had a really productive weekend. Pretty much finished the rabbit hutch, Irvin just has to add handles to the big doors. We spent 2 hours both Saturday and Sunday at the Y. The nice guy who was in charge of the workout area showed me how to use the treadmill since it is different from the one I have at home and then he showed Irvin the different weight machines. After we worked out for a half hour I hit the lap pool and he hit the steam room and sauna then came to the pool.

My doctors appointment went well last Friday. I had even lost 4lbs and all of my bloodwork except for vitamin D and B came back great. My ferritin even went up from 61 to 76 I started adding in a daily capsule of freeze-dried grass-fed beef liver and I think that has helped with my Iron and ferritin. I go back in 4 months to see how my progress is doing.

QOTD: Do you ever stop what you're doing to take 5 or 10 minutes to just relax or meditate? Yesterday afternoon I was outside doing some yard work and decided to pull my blanket out and just sit for 10 minutes sucking in the sun and listening to the critters.

B: coffee and egg and ham wrap

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: grilled pork chops and steamed zucchini

Treadmill and then swimming. Really glad the Y is open until 9pm during the week.

Have a fabulous day everyone!!!!

Good Morning Gang. Another week in the books and it went rather quickly.

Yesterday turned out to be a very interesting day at work. While in the scale house I heard all sorts of chatter on the 2-way radio that we all have so we can communicate things to each other. At 11am I called into my purchasing person to ask her what the heck is going on in the plant. She told me that on the night shift the APO took a 2 1/2 hour nap and neither the acting SS or PO woke him up to go check on the conveyor. The conveyor takes what is leftover from burning the trash and sorts it into either the ash loadout area or metals area. Well long story short there was a huge plug that stopped the conveyor and backed up the expellers which almost took the plant offline. The APO was woken up and he and the SS tried for an hour to unplug the mess, but they just made it worse. And the icing on the cake neither one of them were tied off or in a harness while doing this. They were over 10ft in the air on top of an unstable mess of ash and metal. How they are not fired is beyond me. They broke so many safety and environmental rules. Since I have access to the camera system I was able to see everything.

I have an appointment this morning at my bariatric doctor so have to get a couple of things done at work quick before I go there.

QOTD: If someone has one please feel free to add it.

B: coffee and 2 soft boiled eggs

L: salad with cottage cheese on top

D: baked fish with steamed zucchini

Swimming at the Y.

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!!

Happy Thursday Menuer's. Another night of swimming went well. I did a half hour of "jogging" in the warm water pool which isn't as deep as the lap pool and then we moved to the lap pool and swam for another half hour. We are both really liking going to the Y. Saturday we will get the training on how the different machines work and I'm really looking forward to that.

Irvin's been working his butt off on the big outside rabbit hutch so we can get them moved outside and get them bred. Of course today's weather is absolutely craptastic with rain, but atleast it isn't swamp ass muggy like it has been. Heck the other day we got showers and thought it would cool things down, but it made it worse if you can even imagine that. I think my sweat was sweating so gross.

QOTD: Does anyone color code things when they organize stuff? I don't do it at home, but at work I do especially for my quarterly solid waste reports. There are certain towns that have either curbside pickup, commercial pickup or comes from a transfer station so those all get a special color so I know which is which.

B: coffee and two egg bites

L: ham and cheese wrap

D: grilled shrimp with summer squash

Swimming at the Y

Have a great day everyone!!

Topic: RE: What's on your Hump Day (Wednesday) Menu?

Good Morning Gang!!! We made it to the Y last night even though we only swam it was awesome!!! Irvin was tired from helping a friend fix a bulldozer, but I told him he would feel better if he just floated in the water and he did. He also slept like a rock I don't think he's slept this well in years.

I'm in the scale house today and tomorrow so more cleaning to get done. You all want to hear something interesting. Apparently, someone called Renee the person who myself and couple of other people are covering for while she is out on FLMA and said I was going to call HR because she lied about how long she needed to be out of work for. First off I could really careless how long people are out for or for what they are on FMLA for because if you do lie it does catch up with you case in point that other employee who was caught lying and got fired. I did find out that it was a shift supervisor who said that because he saw her three different times last week riding her new Harley trike she had bought before she went out for her surgery and she is trying to get her FMLA extended because she isn't healing well. All I can say is Karma catches up with people who do shady ****

Oh Mel the cat tapestry came in and my plant manager gave me OK to put it up in the office he actually really likes it as does a few other people. :)

QOTD: Have you ever started something that really got you motivated to keep going? I don't think anything has really gotten me motivated to get the rest of my weight off and get healthy like joining the Y. I really wish we had done it a long time ago. Once we get into the swing of things I want to start going in the mornings every now and then along with going at night. Even Irvin is excited and motivated about getting fit.

B: coffee and squash and eggs

L: Swiss cheese and ham wrap

D: salad with chicken salad on top

Going to the Y again!!!

Have a fabulous day everyone.

Happy Tuesday Gang!! I'm a little bummed we didn't get to the Y last night because when I got home Irvin had been working on the big rabbit hutch, but realized some of the stuff we got the day before wasn't going to work so we ended up taking it back to Lowe's and getting other stuff. Not the end of the world as I just jumped on the home treadmill, but I was really looking forward to going.

Work was super busy yesterday, but I was able to all, but two reports completed so I am very happy about that. Now to get them done and see what else the day brings.

I was able to upload a bunch of pictures so let's see what I post below.

QOTD: What's your favorite walking/running shoe/sneaker? I've tried a bunch of different ones over the years, but it seems for me Sketchers always comes out on top. I have a bit of a wide foot and with them for some reason I don't need to have them in wide their regular fit perfect and are always comfortable.

B: coffee and egg with squash

L: salad with sliced soupy and sharp cheddar

D: grilled chicken

Either the Y or home treadmill we will see what Irvin feels up to. Crossing fingers it's the Y.

Have a great day everyone!! Now for some pictures. These are of the America's Stonehenge. Of course, the site won't let me shrink them.

Good Monday Morning Gang!! Boy did I ever need some vacation time of course I've come back to a load of stupid crap at work, but I'll get through it. I have tons of pictures to post, but for some reason OH is being fussy so when I can post them I will.

I got everything pretty much done that I wanted to do and even got to go to America's Stonehenge in Salem, NH. Such a fun place to visit. We went raspberry picking, finished getting everything planted, picked up the big cages, and almost got the rabbit hutch finished. The best of all we joined the YMCA yesterday and the entire month of July was free with no joining fee either. I didn't realize how much it offered, and they just put in a new sauna and steam room. The workout room is amazing as is the two pools and hot tub. Irvin and I are very excited.

QOTD: Who here likes History? Like ancient History 4000+ years? When we went to America's Stonehenge it was fascinating to learn that it was traced back to be over 4000 years old and that they believed it had been made by ancient travelers. There is even a sacrificial table there. I'm hoping it was for animals and not humans.

B: coffee and squash & eggs

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: onion ring burgers wrapped in bacon

Tonight, we will go to the Y and either swim laps, use the treadmill, or do both they are opened until 9pm.

Have a great day everyone!!!

QOTD: Has a movie ever been filmed in your town? I just found out that the new M. Night Shyalaman movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal is being filmed in RI and in the small town I grew up in Chepachet which is less than 10 minutes from where I live now. They are filming in the Old Stagecoach Tavern now called Tavern on the Main. It is known to be haunted. So cool.

Happy Friday-eve gang. It has finally cooled down some and we are getting some needed rain showers after all the heat the last few days. Tomorrow starts my vacation and I'm not sure what we will be doing, but I do know Irvin wants to go to a restaurant he found in Tiverton, RI. He was watching some food challenges, and this lady did the cookie monster challenge which consisted of a 2-pound fresh baked chocolate chip cookie topped with 15 scoops of ice cream. While the challenge is for 2 people, she did it herself in under 8 minutes and won $200. Ice cream is his weakness, and I know he could do that challenge himself in under 10 minutes, but I told him I would rather just go and get a sandwich or something. I also want to go clamming if the weather is good enough.

QOTD: For those of you who eat eggs how do you like them prepared? My go to way is scrambled, but like hard boiled or in an omelet. Yesterday Irvin made 4 soft boiled eggs and what a difference between hard boiled. I think I might just start having them more often.

Happy Hump Day Menuers. Boy did it get toasty in the scale house yesterday afternoon even with the A/C on. The trucks started coming in one after another and having to open the little window to get the info from them and then again to give them the ticket when they scaled out really sucked the hot air in. Today I made sure to wear a tank top instead of a t-shirt. I don't like to be sweaty or sticky.

Didn't do much when I got home excep****er the garden. I've been taking turmeric with bromelain again as my right thumb has been bothering me. That stuff really helps with joint pain and inflammation.

QOTD: What do you all take for pain? With all of us having WLS and we all know not to take NSAIDs due to the risk of ulcers and such I've turned to more holistic things and have found turmeric with added bromelain works pretty well. I will also do Epson salt soaks even if it is just my feet. I have also used Emu oil rubs on one of my knees.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 sliced strawberries

Happy Tuesday Gang. I'm in the scale house again, but I kind of don't mind. The A/C is blaring and I got to call out a resident who felt they could just dump whatever they wanted including a huge mattress that we do not take. Public humiliation can be a good thing especially since it really ****** the other residents off that some of them don't follow the rules. I picked some Summer squash last night and planted some eggplant and peppers they are a little bit of a later crop.

Irvin wanted to try beet juice so I picked up some beets. We have a juicer that was gifted to us years ago and have only used it a few times. I peeled the beets added turmeric root, ginger, lemon, and black pepper. It almost tasted like V8 juice I really liked it, Irvin said it was OK a little earthy.

QOTD: Who here likes root vegetables? I really enjoy them in the Winter roasted. Though I make a nice chicken soup with turnip, parsnip, and carrots. I also like pickled beets but haven't made them in a long time. I'm thinking of growing some in the early Fall.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with raspberries

Happy Monday Gang. It was nice to have a three-day weekend, and this is another short week for me going into my vacation week next week. The heatwave officially started yesterday. Thank God for central air. I was doing some gardening throughout the day with taking breaks in the cool house.

Friday we were not able to go strawberry picking because every place was closed for ripening, so I came up with a plan to go mini golfing instead. We had so much fun it was way better than picking strawberries.

QOTD: Who here likes things like mini golf, go-karts, etc.? I haven't been mini golfing or go-karting in years and I told Irvin I want us two to go since the place in less than 10 minutes from us. There is also a place in Somers, CT that has bummer boats, batting cages, mini-golf and all sorts of fun stuff.

B: coffee and1/2 cup cottage cheese with raspberries
