Getting there
OK, HERE'S A VERY GENTLE "K-I-C-K", BUT DON'T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF. YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WENT WRONG & WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. IT'S SO EASY TO GET OFF TRACK A BIT ... WE'RE CHANGING JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR LIVES, SO YOU'LL HAVE TO EXPECT SOME SET BACKS ALONG THE WAY. THE TRICK IS TO CATCH THEM FAST, WHICH YOU HAVE DONE.
YOU RECOGNIZED A "BIGGIE" WHEN YOU SAID THAT YOU FOUND YOURSELF TAKING CARE OF EVERYONE ELSE INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON YOUR ISSUES ... &, NOT BEING WITH US HERE ON THE BOARDS OR AT MEETINGS LETS US GET LAZY. I KNOW ... BEEN THERE, DONE THAT! WE DEFINITELY NEED SUPPORT & SOMEONE TO HOLD US ACCOUNTABLE AS WE FORM WISE, HEALTHY HABITS!
CONGRATS
ON THE 18 #s & GIVE THAT YOUNG MAN A HUG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dawn!
I have written down my food intake today, including the few rat-chips that I snatched, and I was so mad at myself, I threw on my sneakers and went power walking, and came home to take a shower and eat my purees.
I tried to talk my hubby about the food choices he made in snacks, and I got the poor-me speech of "fine, I just won't buy anything anymore" and a pouty attitude. I reminded him that if he ever tries to stop smoking, I would never leave cigarettes all over the house to tempt him and I NEED a safe space in the comfort of my home without rat food under my nose every time I turn around.
Anyway, let's hope I got through to him THAT way, in a way he can relate. We are dealing with all sorts of teenaged drama here and I need to be able to focus on me withou****ching someone across the room pig out on Lays chips- aaarggh!!
Tell me it gets easier to resist this stuff! On the POSITIVE side, my clothes are getting really baggy on me. Yippee!
Love & Hugs!!!!
Christine
That is wonderful that you are taking steps to regain your control ... But, no reason to be "mad" at yourself ... This is a step-by-step, decision-by-decision life-long journey & some decisions will be better than others ... You'll be mad at yourself forever if you judge yourself so harshly. The only way you "fail" is if you give up, so failure isn't really an option or possibility here ... I can't see you giving up ... Ever. So, jus****ch each decision with an eye for how wise it is. Now, remember, this isn't a prisioner type lifestyle. We need to stay away from certain things like sugar items forever, but there are other things we can substitute so we can enjoy our treats as well. So, a treat every once in a while is not a failure ...
I hope to see you enjoying this journey instead of living with a "success/failure" ... "passed/failed" beat-yourself-up attitude. Relax & make "friends" with your new lifestyle. Find the fun in it ... Revel in the successes ... Feel the excitement of upcoming challenges & future successes. Live in the power of being in control of your life!
You are doing fantastic, girl!!!!!!!! I don't know what you expected, but perfection is off the board for everyone ... So, look at all the wonderful, healthy, wise decisions you've made & all the improvements you are seeing in yourself. Wow, baggy clothes are the best. I still have "fat" clothes in my closet just so I can pass them by when looking for something to wear. It's hilarious ... "Nicky ... I don't have any blouses that are small enough any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Now, that feels great! He even told me to take off a blouse the other day cuz it looked too big & baggy. Jump for joy, girl. You already have clothes that are tooooooooooooo big for you!!!!!!!!!!
You need to believe that you are succeeding ... We can tell you this forever, but until you believe it yourself, you will fight this journey & continue to beat yourself up over nothing. You cannot fail, Ms Christine ... Relax ... Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!
