I eat Kashi Go Lean cereal. It has 13 grams of protien, 10 gram s of fiber and 6 grams of suger per cup.
I usually eat 1/2 cup plus enough milk to wet it. That ups the protien a little. I tolerate it very well. Publix actually had a buy one get one sale on it last week. My husband eats it too.

Kathy,
Kashi Go Lean is my all time FAVORITE cereal, but I thought it might have too much sugar, so I didn't get it. I'm glad to know you can tolerate it. I might give it a try but I'll go with the Special K Protein Plus first.
As for power bars, i tried the Adnavt-edge. Not too thrilled with them. They were pretty dry and blah. I'll look for the q-bars. I read the labels of everything and if I think there might be too much sugar or sugar alcohol in it, I put it down and step away.
Strangely, this morning was my first experience of hating something I LOVED before WLS. I know it is strange, but I love Lipton Noodle Soup for breakfast, with 1/4 egg beaters stirred in, for breakfast. I didn't even finish half of it and felt sick to my stomach so I dumped it down the garbage disposal. I have no desire to eat it again.
I would much prefer a bowl of cereal or a protein shake.
Hugs!

Christine-
I was afraid of the sugar too, but my nutritionist recommended it. I was VERY cautious when I had that first bowl. I had been craving cereal since day one!
To be completely truthful, one of my co-workers has a large box of Froot-Loops on his desk and I would give my left arm for just a taste of that! I have been really craving those.
Oh well, I knew there would be sacrifices and this is just one of many, but its worth it.

Have you tried the Power Crunch Protien bars from the vitamin shoppe (also, online here in the links) ... They are a waifer-type bar ... Very light so they don't cause "Grouch Pouch" syndrome. Triple chocolate is my fav, but Nick & Ms Cheryl love the peanut butter fudge. The cookies & cream are good & Ms Britty loves the vanilla.
I live on them & have a standing Special Order at The Vitamin Shoppe for them.
