Well..here's my .02.. Try to exercise..start slow and push yourself to do more, a little at a time..I hate exercising, so I find going to the mall or any store walking around keeps me from getting board as with a routine of exercise..I don't do this every day, but a few times a week, I go wear myself out at the stores.. I feel better when I exercise..it releases natural pain killers and helps with depression..I doubt you are depressed or in pain, but it does help you feel more alive, not so tired and it boost's your weight loss.. As far as food goes, I stay away from anything white except non fat milk products. no bread, crackers, potatoes etc..I do occasionally eat a 1/2 the fat townhouse cracker or two with peanut butter..or a slice of whole wheat bread, toasted in some french onion soup with a little Moz. Cheese melted on top..

NICK & I DISCUSSED THIS VERY THING THIS EVENING ... TOO TIRED TO EXERCISE, BUT HAVE TO SO I CAN THEN NOT BE TIRED. GONNA START TOMORROW ... BUT, Y'ALL HAVE TO KEEP ME ACCOUNTABLE! NO, I'M NOT DEPRESSED ... FRUSTRATED FOR SURE. BUT, I DO GET MINOR HIP & BACK PAIN SO THE NATURAL PAIN KILLERS WILL BE HELPFUL. IT USED TO BE THAT I COULD BARELY WALK BEFORE SURGERY BECAUSE OF PAIN ... NOW, IT'S SO MINOR. I TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM WHITE CARBS ... BUT, I'M GONNA REALLY FOCUS ON EVERY MORSEL I PUT IN MY MOUTH! I APPRECIATED YOUR 2 CENTS, MS JANET. I WAS JUST NOT "SEEING" THE ANSWER BECAUSE THE PROBLEM HAD GOTTEN SO BIG TO ME! GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

Hey Dawn- It sounds like you are doing so many things RIGHT! I would agree that my best 2 cents would be to do some sort of exercise..even if it is 15 min. of walking. ...anything to get your calories burning. And more protein and water..not that you aren't doing well, b/c you are.. But adding more certianly can't hurt. In regards to the vitamins..i am still on 2 flinstone chewables a day..but my surgeon told me that when i finish my bottle i could swtich to just an adult chewable if i want...

LOVE YOUR NEW PICTURE, MS HEATHER ... YOU HAVE TAKEN 10 YEARS OFF YOUR FACE ... YOU LOOK SO YOUNG & FRESH! YES, EXERCISE (IT'S GONNA BE ROUGH, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING EVERYONE SAYS TO START EVEN THOUGH I'M EXHAUSTED), MORE PROTEIN/CALORIES ... FLUIDS ARE MY BUGABOO. I REALLY DO NEED TO INCREASE THAT! I'M THINKING FROM WHAT I'VE READ HERE THAT I'M GONNA CHANGE MY VITAMINS AS WELL. FLINSTONES WERE JUST SO CONVENIENT BECAUSE THEY ARE CHEWABLE, BUT MAYBE SOME MADE JUST FOR WLS PATIENTS WOULD BE BETTER. THANK YOU MS HEATHER ... I APPRECIATE YOUR SUGGESTIONS & I'M GONNA FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE CHANGES. GOD BLESS DAWN & NICK

I'm hitting the board really quick, so didn't have time to read your profile entry, but have you had your iron level tested to see if that's contributing to your exhaustion? I can remember being so very tired all the time, especially the first 6 mos or so out and my iron was low and I ended up in the ER not too long after from passing out for the first time ever in my life due to being dehydrated (morale, are you drinking enough water?). I still take iron now (Feosol - can buy from Walmart) because my iron was low. As for vitamins, I take, Ultra Mega Womens Vitamins w/ Iron from GNC. Have pretty much from the very beginning w/ my doctors blessing and I've never had any issues (other than my iron). As for stalls, we'll I've had them pretty much my entire weight loss journey. Hate them!!! On one again right now. Ugh!!! Increase your water, protein and add some form of movement....all the same words of wisdom you've already heard, but true nonetheless. I need to also take me own advice!! Stay faithful and this will pass

YOU'RE THE 4th OR 5th PERSON BETWEEN THIS BOARD & THE OCT BOARD TO MENTION THAT MAYBE MY IRON IS LOW. I NEED TO CALL MY DOC & SEE WHAT KIND OF LABS HE TOOK ON ME OVER THE HOLIDAYS & IF IRON WAS ONE HE CHECKED. I AM CHANGING FROM FLINTSTONES COMPLETE TO SOME KIND OF VITAMIN/MINERAL THAT IS FORMULATED JUST FOR GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS ... I'M TRYING OPTISOURCE & VISTA VITAMINS FOR 30 DAYS EACH & COMPARING HOW I FEEL. A LADY ON THE OCT BOARD IS ON THE VITAMINS YOU'RE ON FROM GNC, BUT SHE STILL SUGGESTED THAT I TRY VISTA VITAMINS 1st FOR SOME REASON. I HAVEN'T POSTED BACK TO HER YET SO I NEED TO FIND OUT HER REASONING. SHE'S REALLY INFORMED ON SUPPLEMENTS SO I'M TRYING TO GET MORE INFO FROM HER. YEAH, THE WORD ON THE BOARDS IS INCREASE THE PROTEIN, MY CALORIES & EXERCISE ... WATER AS WELL. I'VE BEEN DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH & THE 60 GRAMS OF PROTEIN & 64 OUNCES OF FLUIDS PER DAY I'VE BEEN TOLD, SEEMS TO BE THE BARE MINIMUM ... 80 - 100 GRAMS & UPWARDS OF 120 OUNCES (OH MY GOSH!) FOR FLUIDS WHEN EXERCISING. CALORIES, I'M TOLD SHOULD BE 800 - 1,000 EVEN THOUGH I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT 600 - 800 WAS WHAT I SHOULD SHOOT FOR. HMMMMMM. WELL LADY, WE'LL START TAKING ALL THIS GOOD ADVISE TOGETHER & BREAK THESE STALLS! GOD BLESS & THANK YOU DAWN & NICK

Hey Dawn, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I have taken a multi vitamin from country life since my surgery. It is chewable, it is about $14 at the Vitamin shoppe and $7 on the Vitacost web site. I have not had problems with exhaustion, and my weight loss has been pretty steady, no hair loss. I don't know how much they are contributing, but our daily stuff looks about the same, I was just able to start walking yesterday, had some knee problems. If you want I can bring one (they are big) to the group Monday, so you can try them before you buy. Let me know and keep your chin up, you are doing the right things, it is just your body doing what it thinks it needs to do. Maybe some soothing self-talk like you are taking care of it and will not let it be hurt would help. Dona
