Hello Everyone, Surgery 2 wks ago
My surgery went very well and I am going great. I have had an easy time, much easier than I every thought I would have. I was mentally ready to go back to work 5 days after surgery! But I didn't, I stayed home for 2 weeks. It is great! I can not remember who is keeping track of the weight loss for our board but you can put down -18.5 pounds for me! YEA!!!!! I hope all are doing well.
Julie

Hey Julie! That is great news to hear. I am beginning to get a little nervous now that I am ten days out from my WLS, so I welcome any updates you care to share to help me prepare.
I am still in need of an Angel so please spread your wings or spread the word- whatever you can do to help! Thanks!!! Christine
I will be your angel, if you want me to be. I do not have one either, but I found alot of support on this site. I will tell you this, the time leading up to the surgery was 10x worse than my recovery. I have had such an easy time, that I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. Who is doing the surgery and what procedure are you having? Please feel free to contact me, my email address is [email protected]. If you have any questions or need words of encouragement, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Hugs
Julie
A BIG PAT
ON THE BACK, MS JULIE ... FOR BEING MS CHRISTINE'S ANGEL.
THERE ISN'T ANYTHING MAJOR ABOUT BEING AN ANGEL ... IT'S AS EASY AS BEING A FRIEND. IN SOME CASES, YOU MAY NEED TO HELP PHYSICALLY LIKE DRIVING YOUR FRIEND TO THE HOSPITAL OR HOME ... BUT, USUALLY, IT JUST MEANS A FEW MINUTES HERE & THERE ON THE PHONE OR BY E-MAIL ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS OR ENCOURAGING SOMEONE WHO IS A BIT NERVOUS.
WITH TODAY'S CELL PHONE & INTERNET TECHNOLOGY, SOMEONE IN ONE PART OF THE STATE CAN BE AN ANGEL FOR SOMEONE IN ANOTHER PART OF SC ...
SO, LOOK FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE AN ANGEL ... & JUST BE A GOOD FRIEND LADIES & GENTS. WE HAVE A LOT OF LADIES WITH UPCOMING SURGERY DATES IN THE NEAR FUTURE. IT'S SO MUCH EASIER GOING THROUGH THIS IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE SOMEONE ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE WHO CARES!
ANYONE NEEDING AN ANGEL ... GIVE US YOUR NAMES HERE IN A POST & SOMEONE WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE YOU THROUGH YOUR SURGERY & RECOVERY.
THE GREAT THING IS THE FRIENDSHIPS THAT GROW OUT OF THE ANGEL PROGRAM ... EVERYONE GETS SO MUCH FROM THIS!
GOD BLESS Y'ALL & SPECIAL BLESSINGS FOR ALL OUR REAL
S ... DAWN & NICK

I would love to. I have no idea what my recovery will be like or how often y'all meet, but I do not work so my schedule is pretty much open.
Julie- thanks so much for being my angel!!! I did not know what it involves, so I thank you, Dawn, for letting us all know how easy it is. Maybe once I have a little more experience and knowledge, I can be one for someone else.
My pre-op is this morning and I am nervous about my weight gain since I saw Dr. Byrne 8-9 wks. ago
. I had a hysterectomy and a bladder sling done 6 wks. ago so I have been laid up (no, it was not open surgery- it was internal so no incisions) from that as well as having had to stop taking the Phentermine (appetitie suppressant/metabolism booster) at the same time. Add to that my last-meal syndrome on my trip this past weekend to Mass. for my parents' 50th Anniversary party, and I have put on about 7-10 pounds
. Does anyone know if Dr. Byrne is one who will cancel surgery if you gain pre-op? I think I will be devastated if he cancels it.
I'll let y'all know how I make out when I get back. We are taking our boat out on the river for the first time this year when I get back, and I keep thinking ahead to me in the summer being able to show myself in a bathing suit on the boat instead of hiding under a beach cover-up.
Talk to you soon!
Hugs, Christine
