Hang in there. I feel some of your pain. I had the realize band in 12/08 it has really help me get my life back and it could do the same for you. You will do wonderful with whatever surgery you decide to do. If I can be of help to you send me a message.

I read an interesting article on RNY revisions that said the majority of people that have the revision do not lose much weight after it is done. I thought that was strange, since I was hoping that if I ever gained weight back, there would be something that could be done to lose the weight again. My doctor won't do revisions, he says if you gained the weight back the first time that it would happen the second time also, so I'm confused by him saying that, as though you can lose weight after a revision, but the article says different.

Because I already had my surgery date, I knew Christmas 2002 would be my last in a plus-size body.
Coming up on my 7th POST-OP anniversary and I have NOT gained back any weight!
I am truly "at home" in a strong, healthy body after being a yo-yo dieter for most of my previous 50+ years prior to RNY in 2/03.

 Hey Nikki,
I am looking to have a revision to my RNY from 2004 to a DS. I have since learned that my ins isnt gonna pay for it and I will probably have to go to mexico anyway. ...or somewhre. Trying to plan it now. I dnt knw, I went to a Dr. here and he seems to think that gaining 30 pounds back is not a cause for any type of revision. I went back to the basics and lost 17 of those pounds so... any thoughts?

I m putting together a support group for Upstatearea if ayone is intersted. Upstate area./ easley here..

Additional support from postop people and issue s we are dealing withk, and support to get through all the NORMal changes we go thru. And to talk about the emotoinal th ings, the hurdles or obstacles we faxed prior to the surgery. The tool works, the mind needs to be reprogrammed now! And most of all...we all in this same journey. Trying to get email responses from those wh o might be interested.
Ill set up the meet and greets and topics. And just open up discussion time where everyone gets to talk about current issues they are feeling and have others confirm that it is normal and we will get thru this.
