Scared Moments

I am having another "SCARED MOMENT"  The closer the date for my consult gets I have one or two. I know this sill be good for me, and make me more healthy.  I am doing all the research, reading everything I can get my hands on.  And I heal from surgery really well. I have had three classical c-sections begining in 2004, then one in 2005 and one June 26, 2008.  I had no problems and was up walking the halls pushing the baby in his little bed the next day.  I guess I am just scared of being put under and being cut on.  Silly I know....but I got that way before each c-section also. Thanks for listening. Carolyn

Good Morning!   We all have them - even after surgery -it's normal!  Just tell your psyche that you are doing this for a better newer you!!!  Congrats on the babies!  One due next week or was that supposed to be 2007?  If you can hnadle a C-section, this will be a piece of cake, SF of course!!!! LOL    Have a great day!   And welcome! Beth

If you didn't have some apprehensions and concerns, you wouldn't be "normal". We all had and have them. Any time you are "put under" it is serious business and there is possibility of complications. Weight loss surgery is a major surgery that is life altering, as well as life saving. Do your research, ask questions of those who have had the surgery, make sure you fully understand what is involved with the surgery and life after surgery, and make dang sure you are committed to doing what you have to do to make the surgery "tool" work for you.  Understand this is not a "miracle cure" - it does take committment and work on your part to be successful. I will also say that this surgery has given me the opportunity to reclaim my life and I am absolutely grateful for it!  I'm sure you will do fine. Good luck!

You are normal! Like others have said, this surgery will be a lot easier than the c-sections have been. Feel free to post all of your questions and fears. We've all been through the same stuff so it would really take some doing to surprise us.

Ditto! I second what everyone else has said... I had two C-sections - one emergency, the other scheduled. I had the laproscopic RNY and it was nothing compared to the c-sections!  Good luck, and keep us posted!       ~ Tara
