Dr. Wm Richards
Dr. Richards is my surgeon. I think he's top notch and really knows his stuff.
I've done exactly what he and his staff have told me to do and haven't had any problems at all.I would recommend him and his staff to anyone considering WLS. Hemay not have as outgoing a personality as some others, but he is a first class WL Surgeon, IMO.

Hello Erica and welcome! I am a patient of Dr. Richards' as well. I haven't met him yet but will meet him on July 10. I do believe that he is a very competent surgeon. You may ask me how I know this or even think this when I've never met him, well, I did a little research on him and I found a 24 page curriculum vitae or CV on him, he has done a lot of things, including research, in the area of the gastrointestinal tract and I do believe that he is as good as what his postop patients say he is, even without the happy, happy, joy, joy bedside manner. But, that's okay because I want a surgeon I can trust more than I need another friend, as long as I do what he says, we will no doubt be friends on his, the professional, level.

Dr Richards was my surgeon and I was very pleased with him. Bedside manner is not his best quality, but I can truly say that he did what was best for me. I was to have the gastric and because of compliations from another surgery, he came out and explained what could be done for me. He set my husband fears to rest and I haven't had any problems. Good group of people. Melissa
I too had surgery by Dr. W. Richards, found him to be very good no complications with the exception of two strictures which is my body adapting to scar tissue, so no reflection on Dr. Richards. Hey you don't become Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Vanderbilt without knowing your craft. Good Luck, do as instructed and you'll do fine. C'ya Bob
