Topic: 7 days and counting down...
I just wanted to thank everyone for their positive support!
I can't believe that one week from this moment, I will be post-op. I started looking into this 2 years ago, and then began the process of actually having the surgery 1 1/2 years ago. I complained endlessly about the many obstacles that I had to overcome. This was my third attempt at having the surgery and I am so glad that it worked out.
I have a message for anyone who is still thinking about having the surgery, and especially for those who are at a stand still in the process:
This is the most important procedure you can do for yourselves. The process is not easy and can be so frustrating that quitting seems likely. But, don't give up. When your time comes every pained filled moment of waiting will seem to disappear. It's a lot like the pain of giving birth. While you are in it, it is excrutiating and you can't imagine going through it again for anything. But once you see the wonderful result, the pain becomes a distant memory and most are ready for another one.
Hope this helps and thanks to everyone for just being here!
See you all on the other side!
Denise

Topic: Nectar is DELICIOUS!!!
I just have to thank everyone who suggested NECTAR protein drinks as a preferred drink. A few samples arrived in the mail today and MAN!!!
It is sooooooo good. It tastes like kool-aid, only better. It has NO carbs and NO suger and 40 some grams of protein per serving which is very high. I could drink this stuff all day.
Thanks again everybody.
I just hope my taste doesn't change too much after the surgery.

Topic: Christmas Open House
I'm a "bander" and we had our Christmas Open House tonight at Alta View Hospital. Everyone was suppose to bring an appetizer...which I thought was pretty funny since we all had surgery to lay off the holiday foods...hee hee. Anyway there was a ton of food! Everyone is looking and feeling great! One lady walked in and I thought she must be a nurse or something...but later she said she went from a size 24 down to an 11! WOW!!! She looks wonderful!! Someday! Someday! Someday SOON! for me! I hope everyone else is doing great and having a wonderful, non-stressful, fun filled Holiday!
Tis The Season to be Jolly! Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la....
...how many of you just sang the song to make sure I had the right amount of la-la's?? hee hee;o)
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah & Happy Kwanza!

My surgery date is December 29, 2003!
I like the idea of having surgery on Monday and having a weekend to prepare. I just wish that the money was already paid and off of my mind.
It seems that I always have to be worried about something!
