Beware of the gladiator!

Today I went to the Smoothie King to get my favorite french vanilla coffee protein smoothie. Once I was in there, I decided to be brave and try something new. I ordered a sugar free blackberry and banana gladiator smoothie. It has something like 45g protein in a small smoothie. I tasted it and... WOW did it taste yummy! What a way to get some much needed protein in. Now fast forward about 20 minutes....... I was in Costco, minding my own buisness and BAM!!!! it hit me like a ton of bricks!!! Boy did I feel bad. I did not think that I was going to make it to the ladies room. I made it, and I had to stay in there for over 30 mins!  WOW is all I can say. I felt weak and crummy for the rest of the day.  Not to mention that I wasted over 5 dollars on that thing, just to flu**** all down the potty!! So I say to all of you.....BEWARE OF THE GLADIATOR SMOOTHIE! I dont know if there was sugar in the protein mix that they put in it, or it was the fruit that did it. I did make it clear to them that I needed it SF. So I trusted that it was going to be ok.... Oh well, live and learn. I will still go there, I will just make sure that I get a coffee smoothie. I know that it is fine for my tummy..... Hope everyone had wonderful day!!! Tootles! Cath

Where is the Smoothie King? My treats, when up that way, are confined to Iced Coffees at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts, and sugar-free ice cream at the mall or Baskin-Robbins. I have been dehydrating these terrific black grapes I get at Kroger and have recently learned that the concentrated fructose gripes my stomach--it feels like acid indigestion. I have had to cut way back on them. Lois

Come on up!!! The Smoothie King is in a new shopping center close to the "new" Walmart, right behind the Regal Cinema Theater.  I do not eat much fruit at all, I guess that is what might have caused my discomfort..... ugh! Cath

I gotta say sweetie that blackberry & banana smoothie sounds AMAZING!!! But, if it did all the "mess" no thanks. I do find that fruit sometimes has that affect on me so I stick with the fruits I know that are pretty gentle on my tummy. Banana's are actually great for potassium but is a fruit that sets my tummy off as well. I love black/blueberries and eat cherries and other fruits but I avoid watermelon, graps and some others for the most part because of its natural sugar; its just too much for me. Ok, now bout the french vanilla smoothie...girl it would SO be on!! I LOVE french vanilla and my addiction currently is pumpkin pie/spice everything!!! Hope you are feeling better and have a GREAT day beautiful!      All best.....
