What a night

Hello all just a update on my dad. Thnings was looking fairly good until yeserday afternoon when they put him in the bed, he slipped out into the floor they called the doctor to get some meds to calm him down and put him in his chair in front nursing station and they tried to put him back to bed and wouldn't you know he fell out again and then at 1:00 am he fell out again and his elbow got caught between bedrail and bed. They did exrays to find that he has a conpression fracture in his lower spine and are waiting for the doctor to decided what to do now. So needless to say I want some sleep. The only thing that gets me is they cannot restrain him in any way because of the law. So he just keeps falling out of the bed, wheelchair and all we can do is hope he does not hurt himself more.  Well enouch on that just keep us in your prayers as this is going to be a long road.  I hope everybody has a nice weekend and a very Merry Christmas. Just taking it one day at a time.

I am so sorry that you have to endure this.  I know how much heartache is involved when you have to deal with this.  My Grandmother was in a very similiar situation and it is very hard on everyone. Sending you lots of hugs and warm wishes. Stay strong......

That is ok I should be use to it. I am feeling pulled between eveyone and that make it hard. I love my dad but I also have a family to take care. Thanks for the hugs they feel so good.  Been trying to find decrations for my front yard for the 1st time. It is so much fun. I am finding that it slowes me down and I can relax a little doing it.

I too am very sorry for you and your father to have to go through all this. But I worked in a nursing home once when I was in High school and it broke my heart to see the patients there  restrained to chairs and beds, even though I knew it was for there protection it was so very sad to see it. So in many ways its hurtful in either  situation, Your father and your family are in my thoughts and prayers that he will get threw all of this in the easiest ways possiable. Happy Holidays..... 

Thank you this is a very hard to do but I wish that they could use restraines on him it would make it better especially at night. I spent most of yesterday at the ER with him to make sure that he did not real damage from the falls. Luckly he did not just brusies and scrapes. Just got off the phone to find out that he fell out of the bed again last night, they are going to try something else to see if it works. I am trying to stay calm and work with them.
