Starting to wonder if surgery was right for me
You did get some great advice here. Just remember that everyone heals differently. You are learning new things & it takes awhile to get that into you brain. One thing that might be very helpful for the eating too much or too fast is to measure out your food. If you have it measured out to the amount you are supposed to have then the overeating won't be an issue, as for eating too fast just remember to chew slowly and pause between bites. At 2 years out I still sometimes goof up in these areas. As for the nausea, are you doing protein drinks with milk, if so you may want to consider if it could be lactose intolerance. Are you using skim milk, if not it could be too much sugar for you & the nasuea could be dumping related. It is rough but you will get through it.
Be very patient!!! At week 3 I was still sleeping in the recliner most of the day. I was not eating much of anything at that point. I did not go back to wor****il 7 weeks out and even then, I was weak and tired most of the time. Do not push yourself. You just had VERY MAJOR surgery. Give your body time to recover. It took me a long time to regain the energy. Listen to your body, take tiny bites of food, chew until your think that you cant chew any longer and then wait to take another bite to see if the first one stays down. I can tell you that it does get better.... MUCH better, but you must take your time and take baby steps to recovery.
Merry Christmas!!!
