GOOD THURSDAY AM ALL!!!

Good am, How are ya'll doing?? I'm up & trying to get my am going. I'm behind schedule but I need to take time to slow down and place God first. Yesterday was a trying day for myself & for many of you. A lot of personal turmoil around me which kind of slid onto me in a way. I stopped several times to pray and get fresh perspective. I surely hope its helped. Got out in nature for about a 1/2 hour with Nora. The wind was very cold so we didn't manage it too long. The sunshine was beautiful and at times we had almost none to tons of flakes of snow coming down.  That brings me to something I've been thinking about this am. I want to pass a long a "snow shower" of prayers for us all. I want to ask if we can lift one another up in prayer. Some of us have posted publicly and others in our lives & via private messaging some issues we are facing. I think it would be grand if we could ask the Lord to guide us all and give us strength to get through things.  I wanted to share this list with ya'll because it's another one I read EVERY MORNING as a reminder that I need to focus on things differently when I'm wanting to give up, give in, scream and more. I hope that ya'll find it something you can use. In addition, another devotional which hits home for many of us. Please enjoy your Thursday! Give things to the Lord, lean on a friend and/or loved one and remember how important YOU are.  Daily Reminders Thoughts
  • Resist the urge to make decisions quickly
  • Gather opinions from different people with different experiences

Be Good To Yourself

  • Avoid “I can’t” or “I haven’t been a good friend”
  • Reserve time each day and week for yourself

Change

  • Give away/sell all the things you no longer need/want
  • Communicate with a past person

Basic Choice

  • Choose to be positive
  • “You ARE the choice maker”

Hope

  • Spend 2 minutes each day hoping for something positive in your life
  • Spread your hopes to others and pray for their hopes

No

  • “I won’t go there” use these 4 words when you begin to think negatively
  • Remember there are others in situations far more dire than the one you might be in

Watch Your Thoughts

  • Observe your thoughts then make a decision
  • Remind yourself to see the big picture

Green Grass

  • “IF ONLY” trap: avoid this by tending the weeds in your own back yard
  • The grass is as green as it needs to be

Take 5

  • 5 minutes-stand back, get perspective, understand the situation and move forward
  • 5 minutes-reflect on the importance of the days events

Vacation Everyday

  • ALONE: listen to music, walk, read or meditate
  • WITH OTHERS: IM, meet for a quick snack, lunch, coffee or drinks

Notice What Gets You

  • Be aware of your stressor triggers
  • Find comedy in stressors

Fighting Reality

  • Face reality if you don’t like it
  • Share concerns and get suggestions

Focus On Blessings

  • “DROP THE NEGATIVES AND FOCUS ON THE BLESSINGS”
  • The situation may seem dire right now but you will look back on it and realize it’s significance

Golden Pause

  • Interrupt YOU when you are feeling tired, irritated, stressed etc
  • 2-5 minutes: focus on breathing, the wind, sky, sun, trees etc

This Too Shall Pass

  • Moods: starting place not the end; know your moods
  • Postpone a trip, meeting, calls, emails etc and focus on getting back to feeling positive

Zero Expectations

  • Set small goals
  • Do all you can then move on

Are YOU In There?

  • Do one thing at a time; complete it
  • Don’t rush and do it well

Laugh Each Day

  • Find something that gets you laughing each day
  • Enjoy playing in the rain, splashing in mud puddles, singing in front of the mirror, dancing etc

Learn to say NO

  • Look at commitments
  • Do you need them? Want them? Have time for them?

Be Careful What You Do & Say

  • Emphasis: reading or TV? Money: spend it wisely?
  • Do you empower not just yourself but family and friends?

All Things Are Possible

“Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26 NIV).

Are you facing something today that seems impossible? With man it may be, but with God, ALL things are possible! If you seem to be in an impossible situation, get with God! Sometimes it’s so easy to focus on our problems and try to solve them in our own strength. But remember, the battle belongs to the Lord. He has a plan for your victory. He has a plan to give you a way out. He is making the things that seem impossible, possible. You can trust Him today. The Bible says that He has plans for your good, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Start believing and confessing today, “I am with God, and with God all things are possible!” Are your bills piling up? With God, all things are possible. Do your relationships need healing? With God, all things are possible. Is there sickness in you body? With God, all things are possible! As you meditate on God’s power, He will work in your life, and you will step forward into that place of victory He has in store for you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for making a way where there seems to be no way. I choose to trust You, and I believe that all things are possible! Show me Your power today. Work through me to encourage those around me to trust You more. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WOW... You did it again... you brought my morning rush to a screeching halt. I was in a hurry to get my little men off to school, trying to get my self ready to go for a much needed work out at the gym and I did not have time to sit at the computer and start reading and typing.... but here I set.... reading your much needed advice and you helped me put my day in prospective.... Slow down, set the pace and put God first. My favorite verse in the bible is Matt 6:23 ~ Seek ye first the kingdom of God..... It is my favorite verse because it simply says what I should do... put God first and then everything else will automatically fall into place in my life according to him. Thank you Kit and have a great day!!!!!! Blessings Cath

Good am Cath - sweetie I have to remind myself to put the Lord first more often because I tend to let things in my day pull me away from Him and the Devil's handy work will not win. I am glad to help you! Slowing down seems impossible some days but I'd rather do so then spin out of control. I love for every thing to fall into place each day as I want it to but I have to face reality. In this day & age we have quite a bit more to contend with. I LOVE that verse! You have a GREAT day too! All best....

Good mornin Kat, Thanks for the compliments on the avie. I was holding an award I received from my hubbys command that I received for my service as their Ombudsman. I felt  so sexy and like a princess in that dress-- Having a great albeit COLD day thus far! I got me some silky thermal underwear to add warmth. The dog does not even want to go out today. I've got on a Taylor Swift CD and sipping a cup of joe with vanilla protein powder. Guess I should go put in some never ending laundry. I printed out your DAILY REMINDERS--great stuff. Enjoy your day!

You're welcome! That dress is beautiful. Awww that is great! Its real chilly & the wind is gusting here again. I am about to start laundry & tidy up a bit around here. I have been trying to relax some but its not working out yet so I will go through my chores list, accomplish that, try to get in some nature time & find some "me" time in the pm. Enjoy your day as well!
