Two cool facts about yourself

When you are a participant in a high school  Varsity-level sport and meet a certain threshold for participation, you are awarded a Letter by your school. Typically you then purchase a Letterman's Jacket to wear around campus.

Jackie, I really haven't thought about my lettermans jacket till today. I will take a picture and post it. I hope it fits. I'm sure it will. I was 135 my freshman year. But I will take a picture so you can see the jacket and the letter "D" on it. Kinda like the sweater John Travolta was sporting in the last part of Grease. Did you see that movie? He had on a white sweater with the letter"R" on the pocket. Ok now I am babbling.

That would be neat - what does it mean? Does the letter you get mean something or is it just any letter?  Yes I saw his sweater in Grease but never knew it meant anything..... See I am learning every day....... Your jacket may be too big for you now.... Jackie

The letter means that you made the highest acheivement in your sport. I won a lot of my swim races. The letter is usually a letter from your shool name. Like in Grease he had the letter r for Rydell High School. Mine is a "D" for Grace M Davis High School.

When I was a senior in highshool , I applied to the William and Mary . I wanted to be a lawyer . A child advocate attorney . However, I met my first husband and guess what . I got pregnant . I ended up graduating with honors from high school -  , pregnant .. and on my way to Hawaii .. no way of going to school now huh .. but I did not let that get me down .. so ... At Age 19 I entered the University of Hawaii . I worked for 5 years to obtain my degree . Why did it take so long .. I got pregnant with my son .. had to take time off .. battled Uterine Cancer .. Hysterectomy .. radical Chemo .. but I graduated magn *** laude, and obtained my degree in Business Management .   My husband is currently working to apply for a Naval Intelligence position . One of the places we could choose to live is Key West or Fort Lauderdale . So if the pay is as good as it is here in DC .. we are on our way to Florida . This may take up to a year .. but he promises that if it all pans out .. See ya to this cold weather .. Keep your fingers crossed .. and Pray .. I truly want to go !!

 

What fun but I have to warn you.... I am a boring person!!! 1. I play the flute. I started playing in 5th grade and played all through high school and into college. I was first chair my junior and senior years. I even played in an out door casual summer concert with the Wheeling Symphony. I still play at my church occasionally. As a matter of fact....I have 2 songs to practice for coming up soon at church!  I also sing in the choir at my church, this past Christmas, I sang a solo for the first time in my life. I was so scared that my knees were knockin under neath my choir robe... 2. I work in a brewery, and YES I have to drink the product from time to time.   For example...when a production line starts up after a sanitization process, I have to taste the beer for off notes or other chemistries such as low CO2. I have been working for CBC for 21 years, nearly half my life! Wow .......I feel OLD!!!!! Cathy
