Hernia? Ulcer?
Hello fellow Virginians.....I have a few questions to ask you......I would appreciate your comments........
I am curious, I would like to know what are the symptoms of an ulcer? What are the symptoms of a hernia? What do they feel like? How often do they occur? How long do they last? What kinds of ulcers can we get? What kind of hernias can we get?
Tootles!

Hi Cath...
My ulcer HURTS...feels like there is someone on the inside of my pouch with really long fingernails, scraping my insides out. The most common ulcer is an anastomatic ulcer.
You can get a hernia at your umbilicus (belly button) or in the inguenal area (groin). Not sure what they feel like but, there is usually a knot at the area.

Ulcer is usually inside the digestive tract; raw bleeding open sore; usually in the pouch but not always.
Hernia is a muslce separation that creates a knot or ball that tend to bulge in or out and cause discomfort, particularly when moving certain ways impacting that muscular area.
Ulcers can be treated with medication and diet and tend to heal eventually if more don't occur.
Hernias usually require surgical repair.
Thats what I know. I've had both.

It can cause alot of pain and discomfort as well as pressure underneath or between your breast area and breast bone!
You have to burb alot and your food doesnt' want to go down very well either!
