Hello!
Ok, I have to admit - I have been "lurking" on this board for a while, although I occasionally post on the RNY board. Finally posting here, I kind of feel like the fat nerdy kid going up and asking the cool kids if I can sit with them :) But you guys are so much fun I can't resist!
So I just wanted to say hi - I'm not having my surgery until July (SO far away...but I'm a teacher, so summer is better) but next week I start on this pre-op nutrition/exercise program of some sort. My surgeon recommended this place to me and I'll be working with a doctor, a "life coach" (no idea what that means!), a nutritionist, and a personal trainer to lost some weight and get ready for the surgery.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and I can't wait to get to know all of you more!
Sarah
Come on in, and have some fun! I am glad that you have finally joined in our group. We are a lively bunch. I don't post as much as some of them, but I am here on a daily basis.
July will be here before you know it. It will give you plenty of time to prepare. Starting on an exercise program now is an awesome idea. I did not start exercising until 1 year post op and I could now kick myself in the hiney for not making my self. I now exercise on a regular basis, but have to confess that I still dont fully enjoy it...
but I do it, I know that I have to, for life.
Hope to learn more about you and see you posting again soon!
Cathy

WELCOME!!!!!! It's great that you finally came out of lurkdom and joined us!
Cool kids, huh? I'll take that as a compliment - haha. BUT...I suspect that you are by NO way a nerdy kid. Anyone who comes out of lurkdom the way you just did is ok in my book - haha!
Take this time to get things ready, research what you are having done, what you need to do to be successful and stay successful, make a plan, etc. Also, join in on all of our discussions...they are great learning aids. And the support here is outstanding.
So...great to meet you and I look forward to seeing more/less of you!

Nice to meet you, Sarah. I'm still learning from all these guys also. My surgery is next month. I have found soooooo much inspiration from everyone on here. There were plenty of times I was ready to back out of the surgery, but I would read some of the posts and get motivated all over again. Now, I'm not really even scared, just ready to get going.
Best wishes, Penny
