just needed to whine

So of course since my surgery date is scheduled and my pre op is a few weeks away, I had to go and get sick.  What I thought was a common cold only got worse to the point where I was almost having an asthma attack just walking to potty.  Went to the emergency room and was told that I had pneumonia in both lungs.  So now it is back to the prednisone, as if I needed the increase in my blood sugar or the extra pounds this close to surgery and I was given cough syrup with vicodin in  it.  Who knew there was a liquid vicodin.  Now maybe I will sleep.  And hopefully I will feel better soon and that there will be no traces of infection at pre op time.  Sorry for the venting but no one here is awake to listen, lol.  Thanks for being the best bunch of losers and wanna be losers around!! Hugs, Theresa

Vent away, that's one of the reasons we are here!  Sorry to hear you are sick. On the bright side you should be just fine by surgery date! When I was diagnosed as diabetic, I was strongly urged to get the pneumonia vaccine and the flu vaccine. I did and have only had head colds or sinus problems since then. Feel better.

Nothing wrong with a little whining. The lead up to surgery is the most stressful time of all. It's perfectly normal. I remember freaking because my PCP was threating to cancel the surgery if we couldn't get my blood sugar under control. It is perfectly normal to freak out. We're here for you to be able to whine. It's our (unpaid) jobs!

I had weight loss surgery. I did it the easy way.

Hi Teresa! Sorry to be late on this but feel free to whine away  - we were all very stressed prior to surgery and praying to not be ill. Yours is still a few weeks away so if you can get a grip on it you may not be impacted..... we all have everything crossed for you! If you can manage to sleep you should be able to heal faster as your body will be rested..... We are all routing for you!

Oh my, what a terrible thing to happen, especially this close to your surgery date. Double pneumonia is not something to play around with. I wish you a speedy recovery, take care of yourself and rest...rest...rest.... No need to say you are sorry.... you have every right to vent! Take care of yourself!!! Cath

Hi, Theresa:  We all have to be able to vent -- and with what you are going through, vent away!  :) Thankfully, they know what it is and are able to treat it for you now...that is a good thing!  I hope you are feeling better very soon! Take care, Cindy
