Today is my 4 month Surgiversary!
So four months ago today I was nearly 400 lbs., wearing a 56" pant and a 5xl shirt. After months of gym time, running an 8k, and getting up and eating smartly for the first time in my life, here I am. I am sleeping soundly through the night, my body never hurts any more, and I am bouncing off the walls with energy. Today, I am 265 lbs, wearing a 38" pant and some XL shirts are loose on me. Only 45 lbs. to go to my goal!
I treated myself to a shopping trip last night. If you have a Steve and Barry's near you, you must go there. Everything in the store is $8.98, so I got the pants, shirt, and new shoes (yes, I needed new shoes--my feet have shrunk!!!) for $27!!

The best part is food. I still love it. I just eat smart and I push back before I get full. I am eating salads and still getting my protein. I order appetizers and am full. My wife and I go out to dinner and get out of there for under $40. It is simply amazing!
Exercise was such a chore when I started after surgery. Now I actually feel bad when I miss a workout. I find that I push myself more and more every day and I just feel stronger and stronger.
Thanks all of you for your stories too! You inspire me. I am honored to share this journey with each of you!
4 MONTHS .. and you have 45 to go .. YOU ARE AMAZING !!
See this is what it is all about .. People who get this surgery ... understand it .. and work the tools given. You are a true inspiration not only to us here , but I am sure to the men that read the boards.
Food is our common ground. We all need it .. our bodies want it . It ist he choices that we make now that is the difference.
Man how I wish you lived closer . I would love to sit down and talk to you about the entire " journey process " Not the whining .. or complaining about the downside.. but to be able to talk about how our journies have affected our lives and such.,
Congratulations again ... Keep up the great work !
I edited this to say .. the pictures are incredible .. What a difference .. And as to your wife being blind .. her smile says it sall .. She loves you ... unconditionally ..'you are a blessed man !

Blair,
You have done amazingly well and we are all so proud of you! We have watched you go from a pre-op to a very controlled post op! Such a great job you are doing!
Plus anyone that can run a marathon has my admiration - that shows training and determination and stamina - and you can''t get there by eating wrong! I am so proud of you, Jill and Joe for really commiting yourselves to these marathons! I plan on being at the Ukrops one cheering you all on!!! And I promise if I see that little 9 year old beating you, I will trip her up for you ;-))
I am not able to run because of a bad knee but I so wish I could!
You inspire all of us too Blair!!!

Congratulations on such a fantastic accomplishment! I bet your wife is proud of you!! What a difference a few months and a huge lifestyle change can make! You've done a lot in that four months, running an 8K is no small feat! You've clearly gone at this like it was war, and you are winning.
Keep up the great work!
