Had a moment of Zen fall over me today....

So it hit me today...I've lost 75% of my excess body weight. This morning I was 262 and only have 42 lbs. to go. In the 129 days since I had surgery I have lost 127 lbs. Clearly I was losing more at first, but here's where the moment of peace hit me.... I like my life today. For the first part of this journey I felt like I was undertaking yet another diet. Today I realized that this is life I want to live. I am able to eat now. I like where I am in my workouts and I am happy with my body. And despite all of that, I am going to keep dropping weight. So everything now is gravy. My current wife and I meet everyday for lunch. (Part of my plan to have no more divorces). After  surgery I would just kind of sit there or suck down some soup...now I am back to having lunch. The thing is that I am eating healthily for the first time and am enjoying my portions. When we have sushi, I can eat 5 or six pieces and some miso soup. Today, I had a shrimp salad and a cup of crab soup. And, again, I am still dropping weight. Instead of freaking over every pound, I can just sit back and watch the rest happen. I like getting in my daily workout, so I am not worried about going back to the person I was. Excuse me. Have to run. I think I am going to take a nap.

LOL! Well good for you Blair! And I wish you luck because my last 20 or so pounds were the hardest of all to lose and I am really jealous of people who get to their goal weight so effortlessly lol!! Seriously you have done a great job and are doing incredibly well due to your hard earned efforts to get there..... I am impressed and inspired! Jackie

Nice post, Blair.  Here's something else to add to your zen moment... Do you realize that you are an inspiration to others?  Was just wondering if you see that yet, cuz I do.

Hugs!
Ann

Ann is right. You are an inspiration to me. I don't know you, but I feel as though I do. Thanks for your post and I'm so happy for you. I can only hope I have half as much success as you and others. Keep it up.  Penny
