Best of luck on your surgery. I'm only one week out and everything went as planned. I would recommend that you buy some of the fruit flavored protein drinks like liquid whey or profect. You will most likely not be able to get in a lot of fluids immediately after surgery and these are an easy way to get protein...26 or 42 grams per 3 ounces. I just realized that GNC carries them and also some Wal Mart stores have them or you can order them on line. I think they have really helped me.
Best wishes, Penny

Good am Jennifer,
WELCOME to the VA Board! Your feelings are truly normal and hope to see you here posting a bit more. We're chock full of lots of great tips, tricks and such. Some of the others have made great suggestions. I'd like to add simple things like Jell-O, soups (not creamy), samples of protein ****il you find what works for you as tastes almost certainly change), sugar free pops for your freezer, Carnation Instant Breakfast (sugar free) and otherwise you'll be able to manage based on your surgeon's suggestions and ideas. All best!

Hi Jennifer!!! Welcome to the board. Your big day is coming up soon, definitely normal to feel the way you do. A small blender (Hamilton Beach & others make them) would be great to puree your food if you have to do soft/pureed for a few weeks. Protein samples to find what you like. Make sure you have all your vitamins ready and make sure you know what your surgeons plan is. They should have given you the info for what they require. Best to you & hope that we see you more on the board.
