Sorry I don't know of any other support groups in Ashburn, but I know bluepoint surgical has a support group at FairOaks hospital. I don't go to the support group at fairoaks, but I do go to the support group at Potomac hospital because it's closest to me, but the groups are well organized and informative.
Hope you have find a support group.
Here is a link to the support groups on Inova website for more info.

I was recently sleeved by Dr. Halmi on December 8. He is very good surgeon and has a great bedside manner. He visited me twice a day while I was in the hospital and answered all the questions my family had. He’s very knowledgeable with all the wls procedures, I originally went into his office looking to have the lapband, and told him how was not interested in the gastric bypass. I was so happy that he put me onto VSG.
The program at bluepoint is top notch, the nutritionist are fantastic and very helpful. They have answered every question I had via email, phone or in person. The optifast they put you on is a little pricey.
I had my procedure atPotomac Hospital in Woodbridge , Va and had no issues what so ever, the hospital staff were attentive to all my needs after the surgery. I didn’t have any issues with the anesthetists and I was a large patients, I went into surgery at 486. I do recommend Bluepoint surgical and Dr. Halmi.

Dr Halmi is part of Bluepoint surgical .. My doctor is as well. He has an excellant reputation. I just chose Dr Moazzez over Halmi .... Both are well liked .. I do suggest if getting your surgery to make it a Fair Oaks vs Potomac Hospital.. Fair Oaks anestisists are all bariatric trained. Obese intebations are difficult and we need well trained staff. Hospital staff is top rate. You want the best.
Good luck and keep in touch ... I have few people to exchange with.

Hello Welcome to No VA Fair Oaks Inova Hospital Hospital has a support system . I enjoyed the meetings .. I work and it was just too far way for me.
If you do not have a Doctor Dr Moazzez is an excellant surgeron and a very caring doctor.
He is part of the Bluepoint Surgical Group. I had my VSG and Gall Bladder done with him. They have full service staff to include nutrionists. Office is right next door to the Hospital.
You may be close to the Reston Hospital, check with them to see if they have a group.
The Va Forum has not been too busy the last year of so. More voyeurs then active chatters. Would love to see more of you and share your thoughts Like you I too need support. Take care and keep in touch.

Topic: New to VA and need support group
Hello all! I moved to Ashburn VA from Alabama in August and I am attempting to get my life back in order. My weight is spiraling and I need to nip that sh*t in the bud.
Do you have a posted list of support groups in the NOVA/Loudoun county area? Or is anyone willing to invite me to a good one?
I'm 31, a writer, a mom of a 3 yr old boy, and I had RNY in 2006. (Plus, I'm funny... I swear!)

Topic: RE: Support in Norfolk
Yes I am a navy wife and we live very close to Nofolk Naval Station. I would love to find a group that is close to where I live and perhaps meet some other navy wives who have also had the surgery. I have made some lifelong frinds from my former support group.
