For me,  sandwich took quite awhile, but now I can have a subway toasted. I don't eat it all, maybe a little more than a quarter of the whole sandwich, and then just the insides. =D

Toasted it definitely easier, something about the crunchy stuff going down better. I probably could have eaten it about three or four months out. Insides certainly, and then nibbled on the bread until I was over it. Your best bet is to just give it a shot, see how it feels, and go from there! Abby

I tried one of their mini subs (about half of a 6inch) and was only able to eat like a bite of it! I miss subway too!

Hey Katrina!! My surgeon sister. :D I haven't had one yet but I wasn't a Subway fan prior to the surgery.  I've tolerated bread pretty well but it just makes me fuller faster.  Have you had bread? that will be the test for you.  Otherwise, I'm sure you'll do fine with turkey and cheese, etc.

Kat, Your post cracked me up because right after my surgery, I craved a subway sandwich really bad.  It seemed that everytime I watched TV a subway commercial came on.  After several months, I finally broke down and ordered one.  I could only take a couple bites, and it didn't taste very good.  I never craved one again. LOL my first fast food after surgery was a bite of my sons meatball subway sammich....i personally cannot eat bread or tortillas well it is like a big lump of yuck once i chew it up....i more often than not have spit it into my napkin. I guess to each their own....I also had the same thing with a tortilla....kinda like a ball of dough once u chew it up.....If u are able to eat it tiny tiny bites.....and count the carbs....I think more than fat the carbs are what really can get u..... Good luck kiddo. Noel

Kat, I have had one but I wouldn't try it quite yet if I were you.  If you really want one badly, just eat the inside of it without the bread.  You may try to take a bite of the bread but it will just frustrate you because you will get so full.

I wouldn't try it yet, but I have had it once or twice. I can't eat much, and my stoamch feels so heavy after eating some that I just don't like it like I used to. I used to love it, but now I don't crave it at all. I think once you try one, it wont be a big deal to you anymore. I think I was about 2 months out when I had mine.
