today is the fifth day after my band removal and my new sleeve, I can finally breathe without pain and have stayed awake all day (maybe I can finally sleep thru the night). I have started the full liquid phase but have no sample diet, can tomato soup or strained ff cream of chicken be incorporated at this time and how much 2oz or 4oz? Sorry to sound so dumb but The nut at the hosp was worthless and I am still a bit overwhelmed.

For full liquids, my surgeon and dietician allow: protein meal replacements, protein supplement drinks/shakes, 1/4 to 1/2 c. skim or 1% milk, 1/4 to 1/2 c. low fat strained cream soup, 2 to 4 oz. low fat low sugar yogurt (without fruit chunks), and any sugar free clear liquid (including SF Jello and popsicles from the cl. liq. phase). I hope this helps.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Hi,

I was a revision also and my doctor put me on full liquids for 3 weeks. I could only have about 2-3 ounces of anything and I was done. I lived on farina watered down, stage one potted baby food with water added to make a slushy, protein shakes,
soups 2-3 ounces at a time, tea, water, some beans put in a blender and made into soup. Take it easy adding new things. YOur sleeve will guide you.

I really like V8 juice, but am confused about it's OK for V8 but not cream of tomato soup? Fred

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

Is there a different protocol since you're a revision? Do you have any protein supplements?

Hi Laz! Hope you are doing well.  I thought the classes we attended we lacking as well.  I spoke with Dr. Jacobs tonight to check in and ask about the swelling and left over gas pain and he said I could start liquids tomorrow.  He said blended/creamy soups, protein shakes, sugar free jello and pudding, low sugar yogert and such.  I went to Whole Foods and found quite a good selection of blended soups in the boxes like broth.  I am looking forward to v-8 and Tomato Basil soups, I hope my stomach agrees.  Spices are allowed, so I intend to doctor them up.  I've been lucky with pain except for gas pains.  I choked one Davacet down and decided it wasn't worth the effort.  The diet and nutrition forum on this website is a good reference as well.  I think the portion size is 2-4 ozs, as much as you can tolerate.   Best wishes, Deb in Jupiter

yes, applesauce was on the list from Dr. Alvarez.   maybe the V-8 is less acidic because it is vegetable juice and not just tomato juice?  that is what I am guessing.  I hope the diet is the same for revisions.  Maybe you should check with your doctor and verify if you can follow the same diet.

!st Congrats on your sleeeveeee... , I'm 10 days off w/ Jacobs too... At this point go for protein shakes, strained soups, (cream of whatever included) protein smoothies, jello, tea, etc and don't worry about quantities, your body will let you know... Please, ask me whatever you need, I'm doing great following his instructions and I "pestered" poor Emilio to a point I could write a book about surviving the first 10 days!
