What is a cougar?

I might get laughed at for this one, but I seriously don't know what it means. I keep seeing things like "cougar to be" or "cougar in training." Would anyone care to explain just what a cougar is for silly people like me who don't have a clue? Thanks! Lauren

In paparazzi/gossip terms a cougar is an older woman with a younger man. Think Cher. Demi Moore. :) Of course, it could have a totally different meaning too!

Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(

Hijack! When I was 39 I went through this silly phase where 25 year-old men were all over me (and yes I was like 230# at the time! There were 5 of them in a 12 month period, it was so strange!). Anyway, a sweet 25 year-old snuck in under my radar and stayed way longer than I expected - 10 years as a couple, then we got married, then he started fooling around, so then we got divorced.....so you see....I was a cougar! Now I'm a happy single mom of 2 dogs and 3 parrots and that's all the love I need!

Well thanks for educating me! Here I am 50 years old and never knew that. I guess I don't qualify since my husband is only 1 year and 3 months younger. That's enough for me. Too hard to keep up with much more than that. My husband already looks way too young. Hey, maybe I could be a baby cougar!
