I took a walk!   Yay for me! lol I took Sammie, our 1yr old chihuahua, out for his morning walk....walked around in the yard for a bit so he could do his duty.....then we set out walking down the street...and then back. Not sure total distance, but I estimate that u could park 4 school buses end to end down it...so its not too far...but hey, its a start! Ive got everything ready for swimming too... I renewed my Gym membership yesterday.. Going to pick up my daughter, Jillian, today after school and we are going swimming! We are both excited..we have both missed it.. I also found out yesterday that when I renewed, I got one free session with a personal trainer...how cool. I think I will wait and try that in the Fall/Winter...or when I get well under 300 lbs...by then, I think I will feel like working on the machines..

Hi Lisa,  That is fantastic news!  Such great progress you are making!  I've been cheering for you all along - followed your surgery (sorry about the complications) and your triumphant return.   I think you will love swimming!  I love being "weightless" in the water!  Plus, you can exercise and keep cool at the same time. Way to go! Krista

Hell yeah, Yay for you!! It IS a start. Are your swimming sessions "just swimming" or are you going to be doing water aerobics or something like that? When our local pool is open (small town in North Dakota, VERY seasonal!) going "swimming" is kind of a joke unless I can sneak away for that one hour of "adults only" they have in the evenings. Otherwise, "swimming" means getting in the water and trying to stay out of the way of all the kids horsing around. Actually getting any sort of a workout is pretty futile. But it feels sooo good to just get in the water, doesn't it? Have fun!

hey girl.. no i dont do the water aerobics...ive watched their classes and I do better on my own.. I do laps and use the water dumbbells..do all sorts of exercies on my own.. its a great workout. Not too many use the pool, they concentrate on the machines. Since its an actual gym, the pool is indoors and not seasonal....im glad I dont have to fight thru the kids...thats what I would have to do at the Y here.... and yes it does feel great...i love it!
