I have an email in to Dr. Pleatman, but while I await his response, I figure I'll ask y'all:   What range I should keep my calories, fat, and carbs in to ensure optimal weight-loss.   Today is the 1st day I've been able to get in my 70 grams of protein. I'm so excited!

Nikki,

I believe I read somewhere that we need 70 grams of protein, 40 grams of carbs, and 30 grams of fat.  Plus lots of water and other liquids of course.

HTH,

Fred

Great question!  I don't know the answer, but will you post Dr. Pleatman's response?

Thanks!

He said he didn't want me getting bogged down counting calories, but on average, 800-1,000 was a good goal to shoot for. He didn't comment on the carbs and fat part of the question.

LapSF/Dr. Cirangle recommends 70 - 90g of protein, fewer than 40g of carbs, and fewer than 30g of fat.  Also, it's very important to get  48-64 oz of water or other non-caffeinated liquids.  The high protein diet is hard on the kidneys. I never really watched the calories, but I was vigilant about the carbs and about getting enough protein and water. Good luck!  Congrats on hitting the 70g mark on your protein!!! Peace, Rana
