Protein shakes @ Trader Joe's - WOW!

Hi All,  Just got back from Trader Joe's and I found protein shakes that sell for about $1.69 ea (in a can) that have 35 grams of protein!  It comes in chocolate or vanilla and is made by a company called "Worldwide".  They also have one that is 21 grams or protein. Here is the nutritional info for the 35 gram in "frosty chocolate" Serving size = 1 can (11 fl ounces) calories = 170 total fat = 1 gram carbs = 4 grams sugar = 2 grams PROTEIN = 35 grams I haven't tasted it yet....but seems like a good deal. I thought it was a nice, portable, high protein option for those of us on the go - or those of us that enjoy a little convenience. Cheers,  Krista

Is it a "Pure Protein" shake?  Let's just say it is, I had one last week; had 3 sips of it and tossed it.  It was disgusting!  I wouldn't recommed it.

My experience was different. I liked it. Not like drinking a fine wine, liked it, but it was OK. I also don't mind the bullets. What I do think is gross is Isopure

I dont care what it tastes like, if its 35 grams and its that cheap. I'M IN!!

We all talk alot about the taste of protein.  I have decided it is an acquired taste.  If it was good, it would make us fatter which we obviously do not want.  Some are more disgusting than others, but now I find myself looking forward to my chocolate protein drink.   Do you think this makes me super warped?

Everyone's taste is different.  I found the Worldwide protein drinks to be the only ones I could tolerate without nausea when I first moved from clear to full liquids.  I liked (not loved) them, both the chocolate and vanilla. Char10

I couldn't handle the ones from Trader Joe's.  I get mine at Costco. The powders I like Matrix.

I tried the vanilla from Trader Joe's and loved it! I didn't think it had a medicinal taste at all. There are some other shakes calling themselves Pure Protein so I am just referring to the ones at Trader Joe's. I am going to get more of the vanilla and try one of the chocolate.

Krista, You need to try them! I love them for my V.S.G.! I buy them by the case, drink two a day to make sure I get my protein in. The cookies and cream is wonderful, the chocolate is great, the vanilla is nice, the strawberry is bearable. I have tried other protein drinks but just too sweet for me or taste too nasty to even think about.  hugs, cougar to be
