Well I passed my midterm and had a glass of wine last night, no problems just that I am such a light weight now...I had 1/2 a glass and was sloshed. Tasted good and ate a chocolate protein snack with the wine and reflected how normal I am feeling.....maybe to normal, I mean what if the " magic" is ending and I wasted some days by not exercising and making some not so good choices, I mean I am not perfect, but overall I feel I am making better choices by now then before. I will not drink wine for a long time because it is not healthy and does not get me to goal any faster, but it felt good to feel like one day I will hopefully be at goal and be able to enjoy some simple pleasures that I thought I would never get to try again.

I agree with you 100% - we won't ever be normal again as in before surgery, but it is so nice to sit  and sip on occasions and feel a  little bit normal.   I am some a cheap date nowadays!   I think it will take some adjustment for our heads to accept that " the magic " does not have to end - it is all in our control now.   I don't know about you, but before I had even heard of weight loss surgery, if I was on a diet and caved in to something that was not on it I always used to beat myself up over it and my head told me that I was a total failure once again.   I don't think that way anymore because this wonderful tool has empowered me and made me stronger.   My tastes have changed too - my favourite candy is now pickled gherkins????   You won't hopefully get to goal, I bet you will get to goal - we don't all have to be 100% perfect on this journey, and no-one will change my mind on that!
You are doing so well!................Marion

Hi Jenn!

Congrats on passing your midterm!!  We just got back from a 10 day cruise to Alaska.  It was a cheaper cruise b/c I wasn't drinking!!  Overall eating was fine.  I made some poor food choices where I wasn't choosing protein first, but we also worked out 6 of the 10 days.  6 mos ago I would never have even known where the fitness center on the ship was located!!!

Great to hear about your husband too!  Take care!
Stephanie
