Local Drs here charge anywhere from 9,300 to 15,000.  I know it is not MX but I wanted to give you the info for comparison.

I am paying $9500 cash this week :) I could have choose to go in the states (my family would have preferred haha) But I choose to go to Mexico, I believe Aceves is an excellent surgeon and all the success's on this board show that. The aftercare (after your surgery) is so nice. I was going to go here in PHX and heard all the horror stories of nurses not coming in to check on you for hours ect. So I want to be babied down there. Believe me when I first started there was NO way I would go to Mexico, I freaked when people said they had dental work down there. But after research I learned I prefer it down there. In PHX the hospital is run down and old, down there it is brand new, clean and beautiful!! Good Luck!

Hi I am new to the group.  I had the gastric sleeve surgery on September 4th, 2008 in Barranquilla, Colombia by Dr. Carlos Sales Puccini.  A wonderful experience, I paid $6,000 dollars for the surgery, that included pre-operative labs and EKG.  I have had ZERO complications and as of today have lost 21 lbs.

Hi I am 44 year old canadian women bmi 35 with no other health issues.

I too am considering the gastric sleeve and might have this done by Dr Ricardo Nassar in Bogata.   The low cost of the surgery is appealing and I have family friends that I can stay with.

How long where you in the country after your surgery?  Did you find the flight home difficulty?
Also, how did you deciede which procedure to have?

thanks

Aceves in Mexicali, MX for $9500.  I went to him for my band and he's the only doctor I wanted doing a revision to a sleeve.

He's great!

How long does it take to heal after surgery?

Depends on what you mean by healed.  Healed enough to go back to work?  Probably a week.  Healed to where the sutures have dissolved and you are at 100%?  Probably 2-4 weeks.

Mine was 9800. It's 10,000 if you fly in. You fly in to San Antonio TX You are picked up at the air port, and driven to Eagle Pass. You stay at a very nice hotel for the nite. You are picked up the next morning and driven over the border. Its a small quiet town. You meet the Dr. have tests and then to surgery. You spend 2 nites at the hospital. I got great care, nurses come when you call. The Dr is very gentle. I didn't have any bruising and no gas.
I don't have any regrets, they can talk about me plenty when I'm gone....Bob Dylan
