My surgery's on 11/25, so I'll be spending Thanksgiving recovering, hopefully being thankful for my surgery :) It's the perfect time to take off work, but since what's left of my family is very small and doesn't really do much, it's not a big deal. On the other hand, I am looking for an adopt-a-family somewhere snowy for Christmas, so if that works out, I'll have to explain why I'm not eating much.

WOW, I guess it is a good time to get surgery. Not to much time off work. Pretty smart. Good Luck

My surgery is also on November 25 and I planned it that way...Luckily I don't care much for Thanksgiving foods! Go for it!

Good Luck to you  as well. I like stuffing and gravy. Not to much of a turkey fan.

I had my sleeve surgery 12/4 and was one of the lucky ones with no problems other than gas for the first week or two.  Christmas was not a problem as far as eating - that soon after surgery I had no desire to eat anything I shouldn't.  The hardest part was explaining to friends why I was barely eating anything - I had decided to keep it a secret.  I eventually told friends I had the surgery and most people were supportive and I could stop making all the excuses.  I would say don't let the holidays stop you from having the surgery.  My children are grown so my cir****tances may be different from yours but I never regretted having the surgery so close to the holidays.

I am wondering about the gas is it that bad? I am still undecieded about keeping it a secret. What if I am a failure. I dont want to be the talk of the "town"

I am currently scheduled with Dro Alverez on Nov 29th and thought my"last supper" would be Thanksgiving, however I may be having surgery this month so no last supper for me!    I am a little worried about it but my family is so big that one less person in line at the trough will be fine LOL
