 Okay, so I was able to talk to the nutritionist today and she says that the protein-stealing toddler in my house is fine to continue her larceny.

We "did the math" and she says that the few ounces she's taking in aren't going to stress her kidneys and that as long as there aren't any "herbals" in the shakes, there's no problem.  In fact, the extra vitamins and stuff probably are a good thing for her since she won't eat meat or veggies.  (I swear, the kid lives off cheerios, bananas, and cheese.  Whaddya do?)  It's not like she's drinking an entire shake singlehandedly so it's okay.

Just wanted to thank everyone *****plied to my original post yesterday--you gave me some good information and helped me ask the "right" questions.

 No, thank YOU for the input on over-dosing the kidneys.  I never would have even thought of that, and am glad I got that base covered.   I really appreciated your post, it was extremely helpful.

 Healthy? Yeah, right!  Maybe when she stops eating her crayons, we can work on that.
