I miss eating veggies -- broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, black-eyed peas....salads! And fruit -- apples, bananas, cherries, grapes, oranges....

I know once I do my 6 week appt. (week after next) I can add some more fruits and veggies -- but I miss them so much!

Just venting. Went to the grocery store tonight. Was craving things -- did well only leaving with one 'off the list' item, which turned out to be kind of bleah. But I really, really wanted some of the fresh fruits and veggies!

grrrrr.

I know how you feel. I was so happy to have a salad, but I ate so little it hardly seemed worth it.

Ohhh!  I so know what you mean!  I`ve been craving a wedge salad, lettuce, or anything crispy, like broccoli, carrots or cauliflower since surgery!  Can`t wait (:

According to my dietician, I was allowed soft fruits such as watermelon, honeydew, bananas after 3 weeks...

I miss veggies too! Fruits to a slightly lesser extent.

I was so happy when I was told it was time to start adding them back in. Saturday night I went to a party were everyone had bariatric surgery and all the dishes were bariatric friendly and I go to have veggies and fruit with a cool dip made from FAGE, FF Cream Cheese and White Chocolate SF syrup and it was AWESOME!

Today they taught me how to make protein shakes that actually taste good.

If this keeps up, I might actually end up .... cooking! *gasp*

You'll have to share what they taught you about making protein shakes taste good!  (Please)

We used Chike powders and put SF Torini syrups in some of them to mix it up. The trick is to make them mostly with ice and just a little water and then use a blender or Magic Bullet that turns the ice into slush instead of liquifying it. Then it tastes more like a real milk shake and less like you added some kind of powder to water.

We had orange, banana with raspberry syrup, chocolate with raspberry syrup and white chocolate SF syrup and a bunch of other flavors.

Aloha Cim- When you do start, keep it very moist and sof****ermelon was terrific, and steamed zucchini. I eat every fruit and veggie now- I make soup twice weekly and dump every veggie in the fridge and cupboard in it- just can't have alot and I make sure to eat the protein first. XOLori

As long as you chew good you should be fine. I was eating my veggies at 4 weeks out. Spinach salads with almonds, etc. I lost a ton in the beginning that way and brought my vitamin A back up to normal.
