Anyone in Dallas area?

I'm almost 18 months out, but wanted ya'll to know there is more to "support" than the hospital / physician sponsored meetings in the DFW area:

There are several "non-structured", non hospital affiliated support groups around the Dallas area that meet at different times and places throughout the month.

Check out the Texas Message Board for details on various meetings - the organizer usually posts reminders of the meeting time and place.

DFW Supporters - leader is Tawnya H. - contact her to get added to her list and receive invites to meetings.  I believe they are held at the same time / place each month.

And of course there are ALWAYS the ever popular last minute "Hey let's meet at Starbucks for peep time" posts that show up on the Texas Message Board.  If you don't frequent the board, you're missing out on a lot of supportive people (although it's kind of slow right now with everyone so busy with the holidays - it's usually hopping!)

I live in Keller, so I go to the support group in Mansfield. I have emailed you that we have the same doctor. I did have my surgery at Baylor Carrollton, but Mansfield seems closer.
I went to the big Christmas party at Methodist Dallas last week. It was really nice, all the doctors and office workers were there. Had a great buffet, and everyone told their stories. I'll have to check out the distance to Carrollton versus Mansfield. I have made some great friends at Mansfield and Tammy the weight management director is great!

Hello all my Dallas Peeps!! 

I have a question....can a "pre-oper" tend these meetings, or is it for those who have had their WLS already?? Just wondering! I am having my WLS in February, so I would interested in attending any and all groups that I could! I would love to make new friends (in person as well as my online friends) that understand this wonderful journey!!

The one in Plano has pre-ops all the time. I used to go before my surgery.
