If you have any health insurance at all, I'd definitely see about getting the surgery paid for as "exploratory surgery" or something like that. Perhaps the surgeon's office can write it up in a way that will get at least some of it covered.

I'm so sorry to read that this happened to you. I can only imagine how devastated you were by the news. I'm hoping that you can in fact get back much of your investment and that the surgeon will be able to figure out how to accomplish the task of getting you Sleeved! Please let us know how you're doing.

I understand that they will keep some for what they did do and such, but since they didn't perform the surgery I'd think you would get some of your money back. Did your surgeon have any ideas on if you could have another type of surgery? Or have anyone he'd recommand that might be able to help you with this issue? I know it's still fresh and new. Just putting questions and hopefully options for you.

I recetnly went through a similar experience. My surgery was aborted after they got in and found my enlarged spleen and cirrohis of the liver. To proceed was too risky. My surgeon was awesome and so caring. I even got a substantial refund. (I went to Mexico-doctors here just call it a complication and are done, they figure they spent their time on you. imho)
I still don't know the cause of cirrhosis other than they think it is from years for medications.
Maybe this is a good thing. You never knew your innards were switched. Talk to your PCP to see if it is necessary to do anything about your liver and pancreas. Maybe it is ok to leave it as is.
Maybe you can do as I am doing, staying on the post op diet. I will lose weight and I will get healthy. Please hang in there and keep the positive, OK. If you need to talk, send me a message.
