Hi...new guy on the board
@Kenwillmore - Definitely hold out for the sleeve would be my advice. The insurance companies are finally figuring out that it just makes more sense to approve the sleeve. All the benefits of the RNY and not as many complications...
For me, I just didn't want to live my life in fear of dumping syndrome. I've seen videos of people that looked like they just wanted to crawl in a hole and die, they were so miserable. Not for me, thanks....LOL
Wow,
I looked at my personal email before leaving work and there's a ton of posts! Thanks, everybody, for being so welcoming and positive. I had to fight a little panic event today. My preop A1C was over 11 and the doctors were sorta "himmin and hawwin" over whether to put me off for a couple of months until I got my numbers down. I was flippin' out for awhile until I got them all together on the same page and they agreed it would be OK. Phew! I can't take another setback at this point!!

Went to first off......

I was really nervous at the start of the processes actually then when it came the day of my surgery! hehe I credit that with my surgical staff. They were phenominal!! I can't praise them and their wonderful bedside manner enough!! Just simply amazing!! Great GREAT people!!
I was actually more worried about leaving my kids alone with my husband then the surgery!! MUWHAHAHA!!! Totally serious! I knew they'd never get to school on time, he'd let them eat junk food and not take their baths while I was gone. hehe But they all survived and he of course uses that any time he wants to show me up. "Hey! I didn't let any of the kids die on my watch...nough said." hehe
