OMG I'm back in the 600s again

I eat alot more calories than you do, I can't imagine eating just 600.  I count calories and try to get an equal amount of protein, carbs and fat.  I have never followed a plan and that is probably why I have not lost as much as quickly as alot of other people.  My philosphy is this - I did not get the surgery to never eat a cookie again, I had the surgery not to eat the whole bag of cookies again.

Here is a snapshot of what I eat -

coffee with cream, no sugar
one pack of grits or deli turkey with crackers, sometimes and egg or oatmeal

sandwich with mustard instead of mayo turkey and sometimes swiss (it takes an hour or so to eat the whole sandwich) always toasted
goldfish ( 55 goldfish equal 140 cal) or popcorn

whatever I cook (sometimes beans, sometimes pasta, pork chops, tacos whatever)
I do not eat alot of the bready stuff - crackers yes, bread no

generally, I drink tea or water with some juice mixed in - I can not drink plain water since the surgery.

I usually snack on crackers at night but try not to.

Hope this helps

well i am struggling to find the maintenance balance too so i hear ya and i am not doing major exercise - just walks and stuff. maybe you need to have a protein shake each day that is of the type directed at body builders that has more calories and carbs than the ones we are used to as barriatric patients. thats what guys who want to build muscle do. and the other thing is to eat some almonds or roasted pumpkin seeds. they have significant calories, a healthy fat, and protein and are compact. i buy a big bag of raw almonds at costco and toast them in microwave for 2 minutes. crisp and good. hope you can work this out. i am a couple pounds below goal and am trying to find the right spot on calories. have increased them a little but find it hard to get above 8 or 900. seems so strange. of course i could eat ice cream but don't want to go there.
anyway, try the body builder drinks. i am sure your trainer knows them. gl d

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions!

I'm going to really study this thread tonight when the kids are in bed and I can concentrate and then make some tweaks to my diet.

Today at the mall I ordered a Gyro Wrap and sat down thinking, oh this is going to be good...nice oily meat, all that tzaziki sauce, nice and fattening (skipping the flour wrap), this will be perfect for lots of calories! -  and was only able to eat half the meat...and the meat was skimpy! lol So much for pigging out. Haha.
