new food find
You may already have known about these, but I just seen them. Normally I go into the grocery store, get the same things I always do and quickly leave. This time I shopped around a bit.
This was at Meijers, I found "Thin Hamburger Buns" both in white and wheat.
I have been wanting a hamburger w/bun for about a year now. The bun just doesn't sit well with my stomach, too doughy or something. Anyhow..I thought these thin buns would be perfect. I was thinking about throwing them in the oven to crisp them up a bit..and then trying it with a burger. I really miss picking up a burger and taking a bite.
Just a little FYI...

I hope they work for you - I've had these and they are GREAT!! They taste just like a bun.. And you can actually taste your burger cause you don't have all the bread to get through first. They also have thin bagels too.. I sometimes use them for a burger bun. They are a little thinner yet I think. I love both products! Enjoy~

Thanks! I cannot believe I have never seen them before. But like I said, I usually have a list, just get in get out. I need to start spending a little time and looking at different products than what i normally purchase.I also do the Grocery store the same way. I go in to what i need/want and then leave...i dont spend a lot of time "shopping" ...the best part is since my surgery, i have very few moments where i think "oh that looks good and this looks good ...im not sure if that makes sense or not

Grocery shopping can be a little overwhelming even pre-op!! I ate the job personally. But there is some new stuff on the market.
Dawn - you mentioned you don't like Greek Yogurt - Do you not like Yogurt or just the Greek kind?? I have mixture that I just love. Greek yogurt ( plain) add some warmed up berries ( mushed ) and a little Stevia for sweetness.. I just love that stuff. Right now because I'm pre-op I used Raspberries. But I'm not sure how those will work post-op cause of all the seeds. Try it sometime. But becareful how much stevia you use. It can add a biter taste if you use to much.

What I found in the grocery store was Blue Menu Presidents Choice Chicken Noodle ready to serve like a little bowl Full of noodles 100 cal. protein 7. I could only eat half. very good. they are $1.99 but a good meal Doris QC. Arnold's has 100% whole wheat sandwich thins for both hamburger and hot dogs. I haven't used them yet as i'm just transitioning to real food, but my husband(whom has asked me to help him clean up his diet)said they tasted great and he is picky. he used the hot dog rolls for a meatball hoagie! I think they are about 100 calories!
