Just wondering if anyone was able to climb stairs after their surgery? My bedroom is upstairs. Should I make a bed on my main level?

I was able to do stairs no problem, but it was WAY easier for me to sleep on the couch (I sort of wedged myself in the corner) because laying flat was not comfortable at all!

It would probably be a good idea to stay downstairs the first few days.  You have to take it easy and not do anything too strenuous.   Wait and see how you feel and better to err on the side of being extra careful.   Its only for a little while,  you have to be very good to yourself.  :o) Jeani

I was able to go up the stairs with no problems and just had my husband get me things when I needed them =)

I agree with the previous poster that sleeping on the couch for the first few days works great.  I would prop myself against the back and have a pillow under the side of my belly.  Trying to lay flat feels like your stitches will pull out.

I had no trouble with the stairs. I was released after 24 hours in the hospital and hadn't been able to even shower before I left so I wanted to do that as soon as I got home.... so that was upstairs right off the bat. Also, for me sleeping sitting up was really uncomfortable. So it was nice to be in my bed with my Hubby again. Everyone is different you'll just have to see what is comfy for you. Just take the stairs nice and slow and you should be fine. Good luck!

I was EXTREMELY painful after surgery.  Way more than most people.  I had no problem climbing the stairs.  The couch really wasn't an option for me, it's highly uncomfortable.  So I just climbed up the stairs very slowly.  Only managed to have to do it twice a day, bedtime and nap time.  We have a bathroom upstairs so that wasn't a problem either.

I did wake up once the first night home feeling like I couldn't breathe.  I just switched pillows with my hubby cuz his is fluffier and pointed the fan at me and I was better.  No problems after that.
