As you know, I'm 9 days post-op and I must admit I'm feeling better every day. I must admit, though, on the side of my stomach where the drain was (right upper quadrant), I feel plenty sore. They also removed my gallbladder, so I'm not sure whether or not I'm feeling more discomfort than I would have been feeling had they not removed my gallbladder.
I'm hopeful that each day will continue to get better, although I'm having a rough time with my bowels, too (I'm sorry.....hope it's not TMI).
I try hard not to have feelings of regret about doing this, but I just can't help it. Many that I've spoken to say that they had those feelings but eventually grew to love their sleeve and wished they'd done it sooner. I'm not there yet......

My tastebuds changed, all the protein stuff and vitamins I bought made me sick (the taste that is). You have shocked your body in a lot of ways, you're still healing and getting mentally and physicaly used to your new lifestyle.
You're so early on I would imagine that concentrating on fluid is priority number one, vitamins/supplements second, protein third.
Right now you have to look at food as a way to keep yourself going, it's not going to taste good or be good, just something to keep the motor running. My plan was three times a day, 4 ounces at a time, and constantly sipping water.
As time passes my tastebuds normalized, almost 7 months later I'm feeling hunger again. The easiest thing for me to eat during that time phase was an over easy egg or lunch meat.
