Meritain called
Weird???? They denied my surgery and caused it to get canceled for 2nd time Tuesday. I am waiting for for denial letter I contacted my attorney and obesity law but neither have contacted me back yet.
I demanded once again proof in writing and told them that I was not giving up and by law they had to post on summary plan benefits. I really did not expect them to do anything like last time.
They called me today and said they are discussing it with my HR Department.
My plan is a self insured plan Memorial Healthcare PPO managed by Meritain.
No where in -plan summary did it state that on must be obese for 3 consecutive years. They have repeatedly refused to provide me with any kind of wriiten data that supports this decision.
I can't believe they are considering it !!!!!!!!
They said someone would call me back by Friday.
