Hello all I am headed for another surgery this will make number 5 in 10 months for me. I have to have my nerve removed from my funny bone so i can feel my fingers again. I am freaking out over this surgery just because it is my 5Th one in 10 months. I hate going to sleep again. I will be asking my surgeon if this is going to be safe for me but do not see him till next week.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

There are some people that will have several surgeries in a row. It is as you know always a risk. Do you tolerate the surgeries well? Maybe look for a second opinion to see if there is something else that would help?

There is no reason why this would not be safe for you.

I have personally known people that had 15-20 surgeries in a year, after being badly injured in Vietnam.  5 in 10 months is not that big a deal.

A former Army Medic (1959-1969), Registered Nurse (1969-2000), College Instructor (1984-1989) and a retired Rehabilitation Counselor.  I am also a dual citizen of the USA and Canada.

High Weight 412 lbs.                    Date of Surgery 360.5                                 Present  170 lbs

Thank you all. I am healthy now they say lol. If this was last year I would be going under at 300 lbs. But now I am so much better. Oldmedic thanks for your advise I know you know what your talking about. I will tell them next week that i will have surgery.

After this surgery I want my tummy tuck but that will not be till January of next year. again thanks all.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I totally hear your fear.  Keep us posted when you ask your Doctor is 5 in 10 ok for you.
I am assuming they have your medical history and think why would they schedule you if it were a problem....

Anesthesia is a different story...  I hear it paralysis the mind.  I have been put to sleep many times in the last 6 years.

Prayers for you...

Wow that is really crummy. I know you will do fine but it is still daunting.

I am trailing behind with 2 surgeries in 4 months.

Sure hope that's it for us..
