Yup... they called it a Physical Therapy eval though, but I bet it was the same thing.  They had me do a few exercises,  like how long it took me to sit up and down 10 times... then they had me walk around the halls as fast as I was confortable for 6 minutes... they checked my BP and heart rate before and after, stuff like that.

Then they gave me the worlds MOST generic "work out plan" EVER!

It felt scammy to me... like a way for them to collect data for thier own uses and stick it to us patients who are desperate for this surgery.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure that some folks really could benifit, but I have to see them at least 3 times... I think once to screen me and make sure I am healthy should be enough...

Mine is next week, where we will just walk for 15 mins without stopping.  They just want to make sure you are not so out of breath you can't walk continuously for that long.... and you are in shape for the surgery.   That's the only kind of exercise eval I will have.   I'm sure it's different for everyone.  Good luck to you.

i had to do an eval when i started my 3 month pre certification classes and when I finished.  It is just a way for them to measure your progress during the class.  I had to walk laps for 12 minutes continuously to see how many I could do.  Then I had to attempt push ups, wall sits, and a flexibility test - it is painless - plus they take your measurements - it is nice at the end to see all the improvements.  now I am just waiting for insurance approval so I can finally have surgery!
