MAY SLEEVERS: How ya doing?
Just wanted to check in with all of the May sleevers on the boards today.
I'm doing ok-- though last night was feeling kind of down. Wonder if I'm being hormonal... maybe that's why my bionic nose (as Brandilynn calls it) is kicking in?
Food-wise I'm supposedo be on one soft/blenderized meal per day and the rest are liquids and protein shakes... and today was supposed to be my day to advance my diet from 100% full liquids. But as of Friday I stopped being able to drink my shakes (mind over matter, I know, but I couldn't help myself and I literally kept spitting them out into my hand after trying to swallow!), then realized that by Saturday evening I hadn't had any protein, only water. So Saturday night I advanced myself and ate some light cheese that I chewed to hell before swallowing. Since then I've had one meal of scrambled eggs with cheese mixed into the raw egg before cooking... came out soupy and sloppy, but I was able to eat it after chewing it into a slurry like a mad woman. Yesterday I blenderized a can of tuna with a hardboiled egg and some mayo and ate that for two meals.
Last night I also went out and bought some pre-made protein shakes. They're not as nutritious as the ones I was making, but what good are the ones I was making if I wasn't drinking them? So I got some that are 11oz of fluid, 17gm protein, 3gm fat and 6gm carbs and I'm going to continue to take things slowly for my new stomach.
I feel badly about not sticking to my doctor's prescribed regimen/schedule about when to advance but took things very slowly and listened to my body. If it made my stomach grumble too much I took a break and tried again later. So far so good and I'm now feeling better about having consumed more protein than I would have if I'd just been regurgitating my shakes like I had been.

How are all of you doing?
I am doing well. My doctor has me on full liquids til friday, then soft foods for two weeks. i have been keeping it simple and sticking with the isopure drinks as I found I couldn't stomach protein shakes I had been having pre op. Also had a downer day yesterday but I think it was mainly hormonal. I am finding oddly that I am having more difficulty getting in my liquids in but I think it is more due to stress.
I am down 16.2 lbs since my surgery on may 11th so I am happy with my progress. I think you have to do what you need to if you stomach is not taking to something well. I am not even sure how I will do progressing to soft foods friday and plan to at least have 1 isopure a day for a while even after i move to soft foods. I am still working on trying to get in enough water too right now. Otherwise I am feeling pretty well.

I'm doing well also. My doctor already advanced me to soft foods so I've been eating cottage cheese, Carbmaster yogurt with protein powder added, tuna (in the food processor with light mayo & boiled egg), eggs and soft cheese mostly. I struggle to get in all the protein without shakes so I still try to do one of those even though I'm a little sick of them too.
I'm 22 lbs down since the day of surgery on May 5th. I've had anxious feelings about losing... thinking I should have lost more by now, etc. I just have to chill out. I go back to work on Friday (did that 1 day start on purpose just to see how I feel). Maybe having something else on my mind will help me. Other than that, all is well. Good luck to all the May sleevers!

hi all! i am new to the site (hello!). i was sleeved on 5/11 and am two weeks post-op. i have to a do a month of liquids then i can move on to pureed foods. i have lost 27 pounds so far (including the pre-op diet) and i am simply thrilled! i feel pretty much normal now, my incision sites are sore but other than that i am business as usual.
i know we all share the same basic story with food, i am so excited to be over the food and overeating. nice to meet everyone!

I was sleeved May 12 and lost 11 lbs in the first 5 days, and not a pound since then which is getting frustrating as hell. I'm on liquids for another week and a half, i get my water in easily enough, but the protein shakes are getting harder. I'm trying to stay positive, but the hormones and early stall are a real b**ch.
I was sleeved on the 9th; I have lost 16 lbs in 15 days, yay! I just got back from the doctor, who ok'd me to start adding soft solids as I feel comfortable. Feeling much better, and getting excited about things; I am currently wearing the size 16 pants that haven't fit in a while!

Hi Everybody!
I am newly sleeved (May 19) and have been home a few days now. My pain is much less- just abdominal soreness and a couple sensitive incisions. I am on clear liquids until Friday when I can finally advance to full liquids for 2 weeks. For me that includes milk, smooth yogurt, cream soups, and runny cooked cereals like malt-o-meal. So, I am excited for that.
I have been able to get all my liquids in and am trying to include some isopure, but it's hard to make myself drink too much of that. It's not required for me, so just doing what I can. I've also been able to get in the recommended 10 minutes of walking 3x a day.
So, I'm still recouping but doing well. Glad all of you are too!
Time for the daily nap.

Hey everyone
I was sleeved on May 3 and I am three weeks out today and today I feel so good. I just walked around kmart, big lots, anna's linens, factory 2 u and my back doesn't hurt, my feet hurt but only because I need good walking shoes but I feel good and I am still thinking about where else I want to go. Before surgery I would barely go to 1 store let along 4 different stores where I walked around the whole store. At my 2 week follow-up I was down 14.5 pounds since surgery and a total lost of 47 pounds since Feb 10, 2011. I am very happy with my weight loss even though right now I am not moving, and how do I know I ain't moving, thanks to my secret pal who I love I just got the scale she sent me and it works I fit and I ain't moved. But I know that is normal so I ain't tripping. Good luck everyone!!!

Hello all,
I was sleeved on May 9th and am doing very well. Started my pureed/soft stage yesterday. Have managed to eat about 1/2 of a scrambled egg with cheese, yogurts, SF pudding, jello etc. Still trying to get in enough protein. The shakes are starting to get really nasty. lol. Can't seem to hold hardly any food. But, that's a good thing.. right? Taking the ole multivits and moving more than I have been. Yeah! Thankful for all my blessings!
