Hello, May Sleevers! How ya doing?
Just checking in with you all to see how everyone is holding up!
I have my first post-op appointment today and am amazed once again at how my mind hasn't caught up with my life yet. Before weight loss surgery if I had to see a doctor where I knew they'd weigh me, I'd be sure to schedule a morning appointment, and then fast until the appointment to guarantee a "low" weigh-in (haha!). This morning I found myself a tiny bit hungry but thinking to myself "no I can't eat, I have to weigh in at the doctor's office around lunch time" and then realized I've lost almost 30 pounds and that if I'm hungry, those 3oz of leftover salmon aren't going to make much of a difference on my surgeon's scale. So I'm eating it, slowly and with purpose.
Other than that things are going well. I hadn't taken any walks or done exercise in almost 5 days because I felt so "blah" from the heat in my apartment, but yesterday evening I met a girlfriend for a really good walk on some local manor-grounds, and then when she had to leave and I went home, I realized I had more exercising left in me so I walked to the park which is a block away from my apartment and I walked for another 40 minutes or so there.
This was a HUGE stride for me... I just hope I have the strength to make it a habit.
How is everyone else doing?

I have been doing ok. I am 9 days out and I have lost 12 lbs, which I think is fantastic! The last week has been rough for me, a lot of mixed feelings post op. I know my feelings are perfectly normal though, and as soon as I can start actually eating again and feeling like a real person, I will start to feel better.
I had surg the same day as you. Doing good. Had 2 week post op also and was pleasantly surprised on the scale. Been taking walks everyday also. Really helps. Still having trouble with getting in plenty of fluids around the meals but it is coming together. Glad to hear you and the others sleeved in May are doing well also.

im over the protein shake thing but i realized quickly that i have to get over it. so i need to figure out how to best use this stuff or it will go to waste.
other than that, looking forward to mentally feeling better cuz i have school work and im getting behind..lol
I started soft foods this week. I am shocked at how little I can eat and how long it takes to eat so little. I have good days and bad days. I still have quite a bit of soreness, but then I strained my abdominal wall on day 8 by sneezing, so healing has been a little slow. Getting my protein is a struggle, I can't have any dairy at all - so no whey proteins, no cheese, no yogurt and on and on. My soft food choices are going to be limited, but I know I just have to work at it every day and it will be worth it in the end! Good Luck all!
