I'm on day 6 of my pre-op diet and I'm craving some MEXICAN food! I know that I won't be able to eat solid food for a long time, so I just keep telling myself, "WHY NOT!" I've had NOTHING BUT LIQUIDS the last 6 days, and today.....I WANT SOME REAL FOOD!! LOL. Okay, many of you may think to yourselves....."OMG, SHE'S CRAZY!" or She won't do well with this lifestyle change, but I beg to differ. I didn't get HUGE by eating one particular dish!! Okay........I think I'm crazy now! Someone, please chime in and help me feel sane again!

Take a walk, take a nap, vacuum the carpet, sweep the patio...the pre-op right before surgery weeks are the hardest. You can make it, and you CAN do this. You are getting very very close !!! Deep Breaths.....

LOL, trust me, if you were having a real anxiety attack, there would be no "think" to it. They aren't fun and you'll feel like you're having a heart attack.

Hmmm... can you make sprinkle some cayenne pepper into a chocolate shake? (are you on shakes?) - that might kick it up a little and if you like mole sauce you can pretend!

(Just remember me in a couple of weeks when I'm freaking out too, k? LOL)

I just got sleeved and the pre-op was much more difficult than I had anticipated...I love Mexican food and I think the cravings are normal..it is the carb loading you are craving-and I really think it is the carb withdrawal..It can be overcome! Sipping water without ice..and only water...is a technique to relieve anxious feelings.

Not actual panic attack (you would have needed the emergency room)..less carbs now will make it easier post-surgery. I did liquids for 2 weeks prior to sleeve so new "eating" has been easier..Hang in there.

It's a want not a need. You can do it. Do something to take your mind off it. Good lick.

Boy i hear ya!! I craved Mexican food so bad after surgery. I still haven't had it. In a few weeks you can have refried beans and cheese. That might help. The cravings do go away. Try to get some protein in you that will help. I plan to go have a nice small meal in two more weeks. Hang in there! Popciles helped me feel like i was getting a treat.

The Pre-op is HELL!!! I am on day 11 and I am going crazy. Last night I tried to "cheat". My husband made shrimp alfredo and I just wanted to taste the sauce. It tasted so salty I had to spit it out and rinse. Apparently my taste buds are overly sensitive! My family ate it just fine. So yes the cravings are intense and will make you on the verge of being insane.
Just realize that this is only temporary, you will be able to eat again at some point, just in a different way.
Today is the first day that I have felt okay about things, not sure if my cheating episode had anything to do with it or if I am just getting use to the deprivation.
Hang in there.
