Suggestions/Ideas Requested: Fish Jerky and Miso Soup?

Ok, so maybe not both items together in the same mouthful, but does anyone have suggestions for fish jerky (like salmon jerky?) as in, suggestions for online supplierswith a good product? I don't eat beef/pork/turkey but am interested in finding a fishy alternative for the occasional protein-packed salty craving.

If not online suppliers that you can suggest, has anyone ever *made* any? If so, send along your recipes... I'd hate to try something out and have the apartment and the oven STINKING of dried up old fish.

And as far as miso soup-- can anyone comment on the differences between the various types of miso out on the market? Like, is red miso very different from white miso, and in your opionion, why?

When I was a kid, my dad found dried bullhead meat somewhere.  It was salty and yummy... not quite as dry as jerky.  Unfortunately, I have NO IDEA where  he bought it...

 i love getting smoked salmon whenever i go to any of the beach cities around here..and i'm not entirely sure but if you have any asian markets around you..they may have some versions of fish jerky...i've had some before but not sure if all asian markets will carry it..

as for the miso...i have a container of the "mixed" miso..so it's a tub of half white and half red and i can't taste the difference at all..between this one and the red..   ohh! and if you get it...try rubbing a little bit on hard boiled eggs..and let them marinate for a few hours..pretty tasty!!
