I'm such a freakin LOSER!!

HI guys! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I have been so tired and drained lately, so I've just been taking it easy... Just to fill you all in, besides the fatigue, I am doing GREAT! I am one week post op, and let me tell ya'll, I HAVE BEEN BLESSED! I went home one day after surgery! I had a little nausea in the hospital, but no vomiting, and I've been able to get my liquids down with no problem... Well, the problem is I haven't been getting all of my liquids down, but that's my fault. Well, first of all, I'm new to this, and I don't want to drink too much to fast, so my intentions to sip every few minutes don't usually turn out too well. But, I'm working on that and my protein shake intake... Jay Robb to the rescue! Thank God I actually found one that I LIKE! But I will admit, I will be GLAD when I'm able to EAT my proteins instead of drinking it! LOL Also, I joined Snap Fitness today, so we will see how that goes!!

FOOD: Yeah, I still WANT it, but I HAVE NOT BEEN HUNGRY SINCE SURGERY! I haven't had any hunger pains, and for that, I'm grateful, but like I said, I still want food! I was staying with my parents for a few days, and well, THEY didn't have surgery, so THEY had to eat. I understood that! I accepted that fact..........until Monday. WHY IN THE WORLD DID MY MAMA HAVE TO COOK RED BEANS AND RICE WHEN SHE KNOWS GOOD AND WELL THAT THAT'S MY FAVORITE MEAL!!!!! I know my mama loves me and wasn't doing that to spite me, but OH Family, I cried... I actually cried because I wanted those beans sooooo bad!! UGH!! I actually grabbed my keys and took a drive. But as bad as I wanted those beans, I KNOW that eating right now would hurt me really badly, so it really is mind over matter... however, the next day, I came home to MY house. LOL There is no one cooking at my house and no temptations at my house, so my house is where I'm staying!

Back to the matter at hand...I had my post op appt yesterday, and all was well. The nurse weighed me, and I have lost 17lbs!!! 1 or 2 or those lbs. COULD have been preop, but the way I was eating, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT!! LOL So since surgery, one week ago, I have lost 17lbs.!! Go me! Go me!! So, right now, I can honestly say that THIS SURGERY HAS BEEN WORTH IT THUS FAR!!!!

I want to thank everyone who prayed for me, sent good thoughts my way, those who PM'd me... You all don't know how much your care and concern means to me! I could never thank you all enough!

Stay tuned!! This LOSER is rockin her sleeve!!!

I love Red Beans & Rice Too! My mouth was watering while I read your post!! Your doing great though! I'm so happy to read your update! Way to Go! Don't worry, that head hunger does get easier once you get back to eating and get off of the just liquids phase. Down the road just liquids is a choice not a requirement...
Take care... Craig

You did great getting away from that tempting meal..I am sure your mom's beans and rice are the bomb and I probably couldnt have resisted. Very smart for you to take a drive.

Congrats on your loss, glad you are seeing results..

the fatigue may last a little while, that was my biggest complaint. Be conscious of it and if it continues past a few weeks get your labs checked by your regular doc.

hope your energy comes back soon, you are doing great!

Congratuations on the 17 pound loss!!  I'm not getting all my liquids in either, I am close, but still not all the way.

Temptation is the WORST!!!  Instead of cooking for my kids every night, which is torture, I have decided to cook one day and freeze their meals.  This way I am only tortured one day of the week. LOL.

You are doing great!!!

oH SUCH AWESOME news, I am so happy for you girl!!!! :D

We got ours the same week and I've lost 13 pounds from the weight the morning of surgery :D
I am SKY high too. I love it. I love life.

I've been really tired too, I started taking a sublingual (melt under my tongue) B12 vitamin from GNC since I can't start any of the others just yet and it actually did help a bunch. I've also been drinking the unjury chicken broth and that 4oz of protein is so yummy. I feel better.

Much like you no hunger though!!!!! :D

I'm glad you only had a little nausea and no throwing up.  I thought I was going to rip out all my staples dry heaving all day for the first two days!  I think it's pretty normal not to get in all of your liquids at first.  Our tummies are pretty swollen and it's hard to get in hardly anything at a time.  You'll be able to drink more and more as you go along.  Sounds like you're doing great so far, can't wait to hear more about your time on the losers' bench!!
