When is it ok to have your first cup of wine?

That's going to be up to your surgeon and your guidelines.  I was cleared for everything at 6 weeks. However, alcohol doesn't sit very well in my tummy so I don't partake anymore. Not a big loss in my life though.

I think my surgeon's guidelines were actually 12 weeks, when everything was cleared (including popcorn and coke).  However, I know most surgeons recommend waiting until you're in maintenance because it's empty calories.  I, on the other hand, had my first alcoholic beverage at about 5 weeks out.  Wouldn't recommend it, but I survived :)

That's very wise advice...I can truly sympathize, tho, because I really enjoy a glass of wine every other night or so...but I will be going by the book....whatever they tell me to do.

By the way, YOU LOOK AMAZING!  Congrats on the Century Club membership....can't wait to join u!

My doc says 6 weeks, but limit quantity and be careful how fast it hits you.

My surgeon said none for the first year.  I had a couple of sips at 3 months out of a very fine red at a dinner I attended.  It was a wine I would NEVER buy for myself because of the price, and I had to try it when offered a tasting.  It was divine, but it burned the whole in my sleeve.
