gained 4 lbs in 2 wks and starting zumba tomorrow!
hi all,
promise this won't be one of those whiny emails! went to wls center NUT today (don't really like her) and she weighed me. her scale said i was back up to 210 from the 206 of t wo weeks ago. at my internist's office on Weds i was 208. whatever. this is the first time since january that i've gained have only stayed the same or lost. i'm gutted. but i'm back with the food diary as of today, got a list of good proteins from the NUT and i'm going to try out my first Zumba class Saturday morning! i'm afraid i won't be able to do it, but everyone seems to like it, it sounds like fun, and i figure it's worth a try!!!
will let you all know how it goes! hopefully i won't expire!!!
hugs to all. have been lurking a bit too much, but back to being part of the conversation!

Sound like me.... I gain 4 pds all the time -- not sure why, but over the last 3 months I developed a pattern of gain 4 (out of the blue) then loose it + 2 or 3 more, then the cycle starts over.
But at the end of each month I am down 8-10 overall --- so I "embrace" the 4 pd gain since I know it's the begining of a new round of loss :-)
donna and her new lemonaid out of lemons drink stand :-)

July 2007 = lap band ...Sept 2010: lap band removed....Dec 2010 VSG
HW: 283... VSG SW: 244 .. got down to 170 -- now at 193 and "back on track" ....GW: 155
In my opinion, this isn't necessarily a gain. It can only be considered a gain if weighed on the same scale. Going from your home scale to the NUT's to the internist's won't give you real results. You need to maintain one consistent method to get accurate readings. I am always about 5 pounds heavier at my doctor's office so I factor that in when I go for my visits. It doesn't mean I have gained though.

You're probably just experiencing water weight fluctuations. One time I gained 5 pounds and then a day and a half later lost over 6 pounds. Water weigh is weird!!
I've been doing Zumba and love it, not because I'm good at it, but because the time goes by way faster than when I'm on the treadmill. I sweat my ass off and know I'm burring calories. I've been at it for a little over a month now and while I'm getting better at it, I still suck compared to those who have been doing it longer. But, I don't care!! I move, I sweat, I burn calories and have fun. There are some songs/routines that she does more routinely that I'm doing better at, but then she'll do one I haven't done before and I'lll be lost again. There is one song, Pegate, that is my favorite. The tune will sometimes be in my head all day at work.
You're most likely going to suck at your first class, but DON'T QUIT!! Make a commitment to try at least five classes. By then you'll feel a little more confident.

thanks guys!!! you've really made me feel better. my all-the-time scale is the one at home, so i'm going by that just because i always weigh on it every week. fell flat on my face and minorly messed up my right knee so didn't make it to Zumba, but it's definitely on the list for next week and for when i'm back from vacay (and a memorial service next Sat -- yuck). i'm determined to do it, though, with lots of breaks and lots of water! i will totally give it 5 classes worth and expect to be a klutz.
thanks!!!!!!!!
thanks!!!!!!!!
