May Sleevers, checking in!

Crunchy As Can Be
on 6/5/11 3:06 am - NY
Hey all you May Sleevers, how is everyone doing?

I'm still stuck in my plateau from last week... was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones who didn't stall, but such is life. Just focusing on lean proteins (fish, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, low fat cheese) and water. Also, doing pretty well with walking and now I have to step it up and go to the gym to either do light cardio on the machines, or to the pool to do laps. Either way I've been approved by my MD and need to do something more than just the walking I've been doing around my neighborhood and local trails/parks.

I'm going to a friend's house for a BBQ today and am prepared with my bottles of lemon water, two low fat string cheeses for a snack and a measured tupperware of baked tuna steak I made last night that I will eat when everyone else is eating burgers and dogs and steaks and chicken off the grill. I plan to STAY ON PLAN today and keep working towards my goal of feeling good and being in good health.

How are you all doing this weekend?

I had my surgery on May 24th and I am still on liquids, but can't wait to have something with some substance and flavor.  Everything is going great though. I don't have any problems or pain.  I am losing steadily and am aware that just around the corner is my stall.  I walk daily and can not wait to go back to my water aerobics class.

You have a good plan to bring your own tuna steak to keep you on track!! Hopefully your plateau breaks soon!

I'm also on full liquids, got my sleeve on the 23rd.  We had a BBQ yesteray with all that stuff, burgers, chicken dogs, chips, desserts, fruit salad.  I actually did alright... I missed being able to have all that stuff, but I wasn't really physically hungry for it.  I got all my shakes in and had some strained cream of mushroom soup, but I probably didn't get the full amount of water I should have.

Oddly though, last night I dreamt about eating chicken...  that was the focus of the dream for like 10 minutes.  I guess I kinda do miss food, huh?

I'm only 2 week post-op. Seems the weight is coming off on average 1/2lb a day.  I have to stop weighing everyday...keep telling myself I need to stop!!  So I'm making a commitment to only weigh on Sunday's ONLY!!

Doctor said I'm ahead of schedule and that I can start introducing new foods one at a time starting next week which is my 3rd week!! AAAcccckkkk!! Isn't that the dreaded stall period??What makes it worse is my birthday is tomorrow.  The typical going out to eat and having drinks with friends is going to change this year so need to make some other plans.

Doing great here! I think I'll be at 4 weeks on tuesday. I have been having a great time trying new stuff. I found some great finds at the store: bumble bee tuna in lemon pepper ready to eat an sun dried tomato - my 5 yr old ate what I didn't lol also laughing cow spreads are great cuz they are so tiny! I also bought a can of chic peas (whig I hate) but I roasted them in the oven with soy sauce and sesame oil omg yum! I only had a couple I was worried cuz it's by mushie. But again my 5yr old ate all o them lololol I have found that I like cottage cheese now- before surgery I hated it.

I need to start an exercise routine. I wish I could want to exercise more but I am trying to stay active which is a start. I am considering c25k I have the app on my phone.
The itching is driving me crazy! Crazy! lol

I'm doing okay!!  Incisions are healing - not so itchy anymore!!  Eating is going pretty good, still on pureed foods, really like the Italian bake - ricotta cheese, marinara sauce & shredded cheese - baked...  No problem staying hydrated.  Biggest problem is excercise - knees are pretty bad...should be able to get into the pool this week.... hopefully that will help.  Stick to the plan everyone...we're doing fine!! :-)

Revision on 01/13/14
I'm doing pretty well. I work at a gas station part time during my summer break. I started my first 3 hour shift on Thursday night and ever since then, I have had sharp pains under my right rib cage. I've been using heating pads and resting, but it doesn't see to be helping. I'm on pureed and mushy foods, but not usually very hungry. I force in about 600 calories a day, but I do get enough protein (70-80gr). I figured eating will eventually get easier.

I had my sleeve on the 23rd. I'm doing okay. Between pre-op diet and 13 days post op I've lot 21 pounds. I actually sold my two largest dresses on ebay over the weekend. No more 24's.  I'm still on full liquids but seem to be able to drink 6-8 ounces in about 20 minutes. Is that normal? I'm supposed to have a 32 bougie. I can't wait to try something other than full liquids. I was so desperate for taste a few days ago that I put Tabasco sauce in my chicken broth just to get some taste! (Don't do it, I paid for it) I'm returning to work tomorrow, so that will be my new challenge.

I'm doing well, too.  I am so sick of full liquids... I have a check up Friday and can do purees starting Sat.  I can't wait.  I don't even know what I'm going try first!!!

I'm feeling prettu much back to my normal self, but did get pretty tired out today from a busy last couple days.

Thanks for checking in- glad everyone's doing so well- yay!!!  Have a great week, everybody!
